The Opportunity:
To supervise production lines and subordinates under his charge and ensure the smooth and efficient production of quality products. To assist Production Manager in recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of work.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and co-ordinating the workflow on the production lines to achieve production targets according to agreed schedules and quality standards.

  • Drawing up duty roster for operatives allocating work (ensure proper delegation in quality, process & maintenance, coordination and logistics), and authorising overtime.

  • Trouble shooting productions problems that may arise and assisting the Production Manager in planning new project work such as positioning of new production lines or machinery.

  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.

  • Motivating and guiding the subordinates, maintaining discipline among the operatives, and manage their performance appraisals.

  • Manage subordinates’ training and development activities to develop a multi skill and autonomy workforce.

  • Responsible for the safety and security management of the production floor. 

  • Ensure good housekeeping on production floor at all times.

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relating to the product, process and quality system.

  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.

  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designed channels.

  • Verify the implementation of solutions.

  • Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

  • Any other special projects as specified, as and when.

  • The job holder shall at all times during the employment with the company, respect and comply with the Thales security requirements during the performance of his/her duties.

  • The job holder shall comply with established ISO 14001 environmental policy and procedures.

  • He/She shall ensure that his/her subordinates adhered to Thales General Security Procedures & Regulations and any specific security procedures applicable to their position.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in any engineering discipline.

  • At least 3 years of relevant supervisory experience in a high-volume, high-tech environment with good knowledge of production concept & technique.

  • Experience in managing operators and line leaders is a must.

  • Participated in OJT activities as trainer or in QCC activities – advantageous

  • Good analytical & resourceful – in identifying operation shortfalls to enhance operation efficiency & productivity level

  • Related industry knowledge (Smart card mfg) or semi-conductor industry knowledge – a plus.

  • Must be able to independently manage assignedshift operations.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication & influencing skills.

  • Possess initiative to handle improvement & upgrading activities.
