Product Manager, Cards

Ordering a pizza? Buying a pair of trainers? Watching a movie? Hailing a ride? Chances are Adyen is handling your payment. Adyen’s Global Cards Acquiring team is responsible for the core payments engine of the Adyen platform. We add new markets for card acceptance, optimize card payment performance in existing markets and add new payment features for various use cases. As a Product Manager in this team you will contribute to our growth by implementing new acquiring connections, the latest payment features, and working together with the card networks to accurately review and analyze new specifications and project plans. Product Managers work closely together with other Adyen teams across the world, including Engineering, Partnerships, Implementation Management, In-Person and Online Payments, Compliance and Regulatory teams, and Commercial teams.

What you’ll do

  • You'll maintain a long-term vision, staying agile with market trends and changes.
  • You'll oversee projects, guiding engineers and getting hands-on with technical work as needed.
  • You'll identify and implement improvements in transaction flows, ensuring successful delivery to Adyen’s customers.
  • You'll engage with customers and collaborate with internal teams across Adyen to bring products to market successfully.
  • You'll partner with key global stakeholders (JCB, Visa, Mastercard) and domestic payment partners.

Who you are

  • You have at least 8 years of product management experience within the payments ecosystem.
  • You are fluent in English and Japanese, with professional experience in both languages.
  • You have strong product sense to tackle diverse problems, taking full ownership of solutions with a focus on value, impact, and execution.
  • You are skilled in listening to customers, engineers, and partners to identify problems that Adyen can uniquely solve.
  • You are experienced in structuring, delivering, and communicating project plans within cross-functional teams, including analysts and software engineers.
  • You ideally have hands-on experience with payment systems like Felica and/or JCB.
