Role Overview
Coupang seeks a highly qualified and energetic Sr. Principal HRBP to oversee all people operations in Singapore and to ensure they’re aligned with the company’s business goals.
Ideal candidates should have solid experience with HR practices and employee management. You will communicate with senior business leaders on a daily basis to express new ideas and suggest solutions, develop critical people strategies, and enhance our company culture.
This person will be a natural people partner, and will report to the the Head of Global & Subsidiary HR. The successful candidate will play a key role working within and leading Coupang’s HR structure, providing expertise and insight when developing the HR management and operation system for the Singapore office.
Ultimately, the Sr. Principal HRBP will serve as a trusted consultant on people management and organizational changes across all levels of the organization.

What You Will Do
1. Strengthen Company Culture & Employee Experience

Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the People team, developing solutions as needed.

Deep dive into data to identify opportunities to improve employee experience and lifecycle management.
3. Empowering Leaders

Consult with line management and provide daily people lifecycle guidance.

Assist leaders with contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
4. Building a Competitive Organization

Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.

Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
5. Coaching & Consulting

Resolve complex employee relations issues and address grievances, liaising directly with all related parties.

Conduct regular (weekly, monthly) meetings with respective business units.

Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
6. Preparing For and Facilitating Change

Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
7. Preparing for the Future of Work and HRM
-
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal/HR compliance teams as needed/required.
Basic Qualifications
- Sr. HRBP or HR Manager experience preferably at MNCs and/or large corporations.
- Possess strong communication, persuasion and influencing skills to all levels of employees.
- Effectively work with senior level leadership with good coaching and analytical skills.
- Good understanding on general HR practices in recruitment, compensation/benefits, talent management, performance management and learning and development.
- English proficiency in both written and spoken is required.

Document Return Policy
- This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
- A job applicant, who has applied but not been finally selected for a position at Coupang (the “Company”), may request the Company to return his/her hiring documents submitted pursuant to the Fair Hiring Procedure Act. However, this will not apply where the hiring documents were submitted via the website of the Company or e-mail, or where the job applicant submitted those documents voluntarily without a request from the Company. In addition, if the hiring documents were destroyed due to a natural disaster or any other reasons not attributable to the Company, such documents will be deemed to have been returned to the job applicant.
- A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a “Request for Return of Hiring Documents” [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit It by email ([email protected]). In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant’s designated address via registered mail. Please be informed that the job applicant is required to pay the postage on the registered mail.
- In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
