Operating at the forefront of aerospace and space, cybersecurity and digital identity, we’re driven by a mission to build a future we can all trust.

In Singapore, Thales has been a trusted partner since 1973, originally focused on aerospace activities in the Asia-Pacific region. With 2,000 employees across three local sites, we deliver cutting-edge solutions across aerospace (including air traffic management), defence and security, and digital identity and cybersecurity sectors. Together, we’re shaping the future by enabling customers to make pivotal decisions that safeguard communities and power progress.

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically inclined Presales Engineer
Intern
to join our team in Singapore. This role offers a unique opportunity to
gain hands-on experience in the exciting field of cybersecurity and technical
sales support within the Thales Cybersecurity Products division, reporting
directly to the AVP of Sales Engineering, APJ (Asia-Pacific & Japan).

This is a university internship designed for students looking to bridge the gap
between technical knowledge and customer-facing solution delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support & Configuration: Assist the Presales Engineers with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of demonstration environments and Proof of Concepts (POCs) for Thales cybersecurity products (e.g., Data Protection, Access Management, Hardware Security Modules).
  • Content Development: Create, standardize, and update technical assets, including product presentations, solution briefs, competitive analysis summaries, and technical training materials for internal teams.
  • Documentation: Contribute to the development and refinement of technical responses for RFPs (Request for Proposals) and RFIs (Request for Information), ensuring clear and accurate communication of Thales product capabilities.
  • Product Expertise: Conduct research on industry trends, competitive products, and emerging cybersecurity threats to help the team better position Thales solutions.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate in customer meetings and product demonstrations alongside senior Presales Engineers, observing and eventually assisting in the articulation of technical value.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable interest and foundational knowledge in networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and general cybersecurity concepts (e.g., encryption, access control, key management).
  • Highly organized, proactive, a strong desire to learn, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a distributed, regional team.

What You Will Gain:

  • Mentorship: Direct mentorship from the AVP of Sales Engineering, APJ,  and exposure to senior leadership within Thales.
  • Real-World Experience: Hands-on experience with cutting-edge enterprise-grade cybersecurity solutions used by global corporations and government agencies.
  • Skill Development: Develop the critical blend of technical skills and business acumen required for a successful career in Sales Engineering.
  • Career Pathway: Potential opportunity for a full-time role upon graduation, based on performance and business needs.

At Thales, we’re committed to fostering a workplace where respect, trust, collaboration, and passion drive everything we do. Here, you’ll feel empowered to bring your best self, thrive in a supportive culture, and love the work you do. Join us, and be part of a team reimagining technology to create solutions that truly make a difference – for a safer, greener, and more inclusive world.
