🚀 Your Role:
We're hiring a Senior Sales Engineer to join our APAC team in Singapore, working alongside the General Manager, APAC and Director of Sales Engineering, EMEA & APAC. You'll be the technical face of Xceptor's growth in the region – leading discovery, demos, proofs of value, and solution design with leading global banks, custodians, asset managers, fund administrators and partners across APAC.
This is a critical hire at a critical moment as we're scaling our regional presence alongside strategic clients and partners. The right person will help shape the APAC sales engineering motion as it scales.
🧩 What You’ll Be Doing:Key responsibilities
- Lead the technical side of the sales cycle in APAC, working closely with Account Managers, New Business Sales, Customer Success Managers, and Partner Executives.
- Run discovery sessions and whiteboard workshops with operations leaders to uncover business needs and map them to Xceptor’s products.
- Deliver tailored software demonstrations and Proofs of Value that translate technical capability into clear commercial value.
- Lead complex Proofs of Value end-to-end, including solution design, configuration, and value/ROI quantification to drive business cases
- Respond to RFIs and RFPs with high-quality, commercially sharp written content.
- Partner with the Delivery team on project estimation and planning for new opportunities.
- Represent Xceptor at industry conferences and events and contribute to thought leadership content alongside Marketing.
- Feed product intelligence and client feedback back into Product and Engineering and support new product testing and rollout.
- Contribute to global Sales Engineering enablement and best-practice frameworks.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with our clients and prospects
What success looks like in your first 6 months
- Lead end-to-end technical engagement on opportunities from discovery through to POV.
- Build deep platform fluency and complete demo certification across Xceptor's core workflows.
- Partner with the Customer Success team to support expansion.
- Co-sell with our alliance team on regional opportunities.
- Become a trusted technical voice in your accounts and a recognised contributor to the global SE community.
🎯 Who we're looking for:
You're currently a Pre-Sales Consultant, Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer at a financial software vendor or in a similar role at a financial institution or a consulting company – working with post-trade, reconciliation, matching, data automation, client lifecycle, or workflow platforms – and selling into capital markets, securities services, asset management, or fund administration clients.
- You know what an OTC confirmation lifecycle looks like in practice.
- You've helped operations teams quantify break rates and STP improvements.
- You've sat in a whiteboard session with a Head of Operations or Technology and mapped a future-state workflows or target operating models live.
- You're comfortable being the technical voice in the room – and equally comfortable translating commercial value to a C-level audience.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in a Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales, or Solutions Consulting role at a software vendor, selling into financial institutions – or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years total in financial services, technology, or consulting roles.
- Demonstrable depth in one or more of: trade confirmations, reconciliations, corporate actions, client lifecycle / KYC, fund administration, tax operations, or similar middle and back-office workflows.
- Track record of leading complex pre-sales engagements with tier-1 banks, custodians, asset managers, or fund administrators.
- Strong consultative discovery skills – comfortable challenging client assumptions and reframing requirements around business outcomes.
- Comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders, including Heads of Operations, COOs, and Technology Directors.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of databases and querying (SQL preferred).
- Familiarity with data formats and standards used in capital markets: XML, JSON, CSV, plus SWIFT (MT and MX / ISO 20022), FIX, or FpML.
- Experience with low-code / no-code platforms, RPA, or workflow automation tooling.
- Understanding of cloud deployment models (Azure preferred).
- Awareness of how AI is being applied to operations workflows.
- Familiarity with capital market technology architecture
- Practical experience with a sales qualification methodology (e.g. MEDDIC) and CRM tooling (e.g. Salesforce) is desirable.
Languages
- English: business fluency required.
- Japanese: preferred.
- Mandarin or Cantonese: preferred.
