Position Overview:

The Network Solutioning Engineer is responsible for designing and governing network and network security solutions to support business and technology initiatives across the bank. The role covers solution development from requirements definition through management approval and handover to delivery, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security requirements, operational considerations, and budget constraints.

The role requires 8–10 years of relevant experience in a bank, system integrator, or technology distributor, with strong exposure to network and security solutioning. The engineer may act as the technical subject matter expert (SME) or coordinate inputs from other domain specialists, while remaining accountable for the overall solution outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead network and network security solutioning activities from requirement intake through approval and transition to delivery.

  • Take end‑to‑end accountability for solution design, including scope, architecture alignment, security controls, resilience, and delivery readiness.

  • Act as the network/security SME where applicable, providing technical direction and design leadership.

  • Where not the SME, coordinate and manage inputs from internal SMEs and vendors to ensure a complete and consistent solution.

  • Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and operational guidelines.

  • Prepare technical solution proposals that are clear, structured, and suitable for management consumption, including:

    • design options and trade‑offs

    • key risks and mitigations

    • operational and security implications

  • Present and articulate solution proposals to management, translating technical complexity into business‑relevant considerations such as risk, resilience, and cost.

  • Engage vendors to source solution costs, validate assumptions, and consolidate costs across components.

  • Produce management‑friendly cost proposals aligned to budget constraints.

  • Support procurement activities, including RFP development, technical evaluation, and vendor clarifications.

  • Ensure timely and clear handover from solutioning to delivery teams.

Technical Requirements:

Network and Security

  • Enterprise firewalls (e.g. Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto)

  • Network perimeter security, VPNs, remote access technologies

  • Routing, switching, and enterprise connectivity design

  • Security technologies such as SIEM, DLP, endpoint security, WAF

  • Hybrid and cloud networking concepts

Enterprise Environment

  • Experience designing for large‑scale, regulated environments

  • Understanding of availability, resilience, and security design principles

Relevant vendor certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.

Candidate Profile:

  • 8–10 years of experience in network or security solutioning roles.

  • Proven ability to deliver end‑to‑end network solutions involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Comfortable owning outcomes even when detailed design inputs are provided by other SMEs.

  • Able to communicate complex technical topics clearly to non‑technical audiences and management.

  • Structured, disciplined, and comfortable working within governance and approval frameworks.

Key Competencies:

  • End‑to‑end solution ownership

  • Strong network and security solutioning capability

  • Ability to translate technical risks into business impact

  • Commercial awareness and cost consolidation skills

  • Vendor engagement and proposal evaluation

  • Executive‑level communication and presentation skills

  • Outcome‑ and delivery‑focused mindset
