Job Description

The Network Support Engineer provides service recovery and support for enterprise network environments with a key focus on VMware NSX and Layer 2/3 networking. The role ensures rapid restoration of services, stability of network platforms, and adherence to ITIL‑based operational processes.
Responsibilities include initial triage, troubleshooting, execution of recovery actions, and escalation to L3/network engineering teams when needed. Candidates must be willing to participate in a 24×7 on‑call rotation.
The Technology function is responsible for activities related to the strategic direction and control of all information systems and technology capabilities, both internally and externally. Includes system design and programming, network planning, budget planning, database management, and computer operations.

  • Provide L1/L2 production support for network infrastructure with high availability and uptime mandates. 

  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot VMware NSX (NSXT / NSXV) environments. 

  • Manage logical switching, routing, DFW, Edge services, NAT, and load balancing in NSX. 

  • Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks including VLANs, TCP/IP, ARP, DNS, DHCP. 

  • Work with routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, static routing. 

  • Support and troubleshoot firewall technologies (physical and virtual). 

  • Work with load balancers such as F5, AVI (NSX ALB), or equivalent. 

  • Support network performance tuning, capacity planning, and monitoring. 

  • Handle incidents, problems, and change management following ITIL practices. 

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures. 

  • Support 24x7 operations as part of an On-Call or shift-based support model. 

  • Coordinate with application, system, security, and operations teams during incidents and outages. 

  • Ensure network security compliance and enforce best practices. 

  • Assist with security audits, vulnerability remediation, and policy enforcement. 

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.

  • At least 3 years of experience in Network support.

  • At least 2 years of experience in VMWare NSX support.

  • Understanding of core networking:

    • TCP/IP, VLANs, L2/L3 routing

    • OSPF/BGP (basic operations), ACLs

    • DNS/DHCP fundamentals

  • Hands-on experience with VMware NSX (T or V) at L1/L2 operational level.

•  Exposure to firewalls, load balancers (F5/AVI), and network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, traceroute, tcpdump).

  • Familiarity with ITSM platforms (Remedy).

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

  • ITIL Foundation (preferred for Incident & Problem Management)

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP (associate level), VCP-NV.
