Market Analysis & Commentary 

Deliver authoritative, timely analysis and commentary across all major asset classes — equities, forex, indices, and commodities — reflecting macro and micro market trends.

Produce a regular cadence of high-quality external market content including daily briefings, equity outlooks and longer-term thought pieces .

Monitor and interpret economic data releases, central bank policy, geopolitical developments and corporate earnings to provide context for clients and internal stakeholders. 

Be the face of IG for tier 1 media, ensuring IG remains a highly visible brand and trusted commentator on developments in investing and financial markets. 

Client-Facing Content & Thought Leadership 

Lead the development of IG’s market commentary proposition, ensuring content is differentiated, accessible and positioned to attract and retain active traders. 

Build and maintain IG’s reputation as a trusted source of market intelligence through consistent, high-calibre thought leadership published across digital channels.

Collaborate with the Content and Social Media team to translate complex market narratives into compelling, multi-format content for diverse client audiences.

Competitive & Marketing Intelligence 

Track competitor content strategies and market commentary offerings, identifying opportunities for IG to differentiate and improve its analytical proposition.

Provide actionable marketing intelligence to inform campaign strategy, content planning and audience targeting.

Analyze client engagement with market content to identify trends, optimize output and improve the relevance of IG’s analytical coverage. 

Internal Market Intelligence 

Partner closely with Product and Trading teams to provide structured market insight that informs platform development, product decisions and trading strategy .

Contribute to internal briefings and leadership forums, translating market developments into clear business implications for senior stakeholders 

Support the broader People function and business units in understanding the external environment as it relates to IG’s commercial priorities .

Role Requirements 

Experience spanning financial markets analysis and media or content — with a demonstrable track record of producing influential, high-quality market commentary.

Deep, working knowledge of all major asset classes including equities, forex, indices and commodities. 

Proven ability to translate complex, fast-moving market dynamics into clear, compelling content for both retail and sophisticated trading audiences.

Experience working cross-functionally with product, trading or commercial teams to embed market intelligence into business decisions. 

Strong leadership capability with experience managing or mentoring analysts or content professionals.
