The Manager, Process Support Engineering (PSE) is responsible for leading a team of Process Support Engineers in supporting customer technology adoption, process optimization, equipment qualification, and technical engagement across semiconductor manufacturing environments. This role serves as the key interface between customers and Applied Materials' Business Units, driving successful implementation of new technologies, managing technical escalations, and ensuring delivery of innovative process solutions that meet customer roadmap and manufacturing requirements.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise, customer relationship management, operational leadership, and people development skills to enable customer success and support Applied Materials' business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of PSEs supporting technology adoption through tool demonstrations, on-site evaluations, Joint Development Programs (JDPs), and new tool qualifications.
Serve as the key liaison between customers and Applied Materials Business Units, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and delivery of customer-focused solutions.
Oversee customer-facing support activities including installation, qualification, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of complex semiconductor equipment.
Ensure operational quality and performance of installed systems, while supporting customer training on equipment operation and maintenance.
Drive technical excellence through training, coaching, and certification of Process Support Engineers.
Manage resource planning, demand forecasting, and financial planning for engineering support activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Service, Product Business Groups, Engineering, and R&D to support customer success and business objectives.
Lead escalation management and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field.
8+ years of semiconductor process, equipment, or field engineering experience, including people leadership experience.
Strong customer engagement and stakeholder management skills.
Expertise in three or more semiconductor processes across at least two technology platforms, or recognized expert-level knowledge in one technology.
Working knowledge of semiconductor process integration.
Proven problem-solving, project management, and team development capabilities.
