The Pre-Sales Manager coordinates with teams to develop technical solutions for customers, oversee project phases, and maintain stakeholder relationships, particularly in data centre development.
JOB DESCRIPTIONAs a Pre-Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing pre-sales solutions by coordinating closely with the Technical Solutions, Commercial, Operations and Project Management team. You are expected to develop a clear understanding and knowledge of the customer’s technical requirement. You will work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the Pre-Sales Solution is completed with a viable technical solution that is aligned with customer’s requirement and budget proposals within a mutually agreed timeline. You will foster strong relationship with customers and support development of the Pre-Sales Solutions with the Technical Solutions team, and act as technical liaison for selected customers. You will see through the project from project initiation phase all the way to project completion. After project handover, you may be expected to support the Operations team, as required, on technical matters. You may be expected to travel for work to support your projects and customers when required.
- To be familiar with the design and construction of Data Centres, and working with knowledge of all technical disciplines, typical and specific customer requirements, and standard Basis of Design.
- You will be the subject matter expert on the technical requirement of your assigned customers and be the advisor to design manager during design development stage.
- Execute the technical qualification, planning and development of technical solution for prospective deals as the Technical Solutions or Commercial Head of Department shall direct. Manage and generate pre-sales solutions for prospective deal engagements.
- Coordinate and obtain inputs from Technical Solutions, Project Management, Operations, Consultants, Contractors, and vendors etc. to develop a viable Pre-Sales Solutions to various Customers.
- Support internal stakeholders on the preparation, completion, and consolidation of customer’s Request for Proposal (RFP) or technical design questionnaires within the stipulated timeframe.
- Work with Technical Solutions, Project Management, Network Engineering, fibre providers and/or external Consultants to support customer connectivity requirements.
- Develop and sustain pre-sales capacity within the department. Support team engagement and alignment with key customers. Support the Technical Solutions team in developing and strengthening relationships with customer’s engineering teams.
- Support project team to execute projects’ quotation for customer’s request and variation orders.
- Oversee customer fitout scope is completed as per contract, specification and requirement.
- Organize and conduct regular separate and/or combined meetings with Clients, Asset Owners, Funds, appointed consultant, contractors, vendors, etc to address all pre-sales related matters.
- Pre-Sales support throughout entire project phases from initiation to completion with quick turnaround and follow-up whenever required.
- Participate in recurring technical meetings with customers as the main technical liaison and recording of meeting minutes for prompt follow up.
- Work closely with Client, Asset Owner, Funds and Operation team on any pre-sales or technical issues arising from pre-project stage, project execution stage and support the project team for timely handover to Client, Asset Owner and Operation team respectively.
- Any other scopes as directed by the Technical Solutions Head of Department.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 6 to 10 years of professional experience in required work includes mechanical system design, BA control system design, fire-protection system, etc.
- Solid professional experience in data centre (DC) development: technical due diligence, site selection / evaluation, engineering design, testing & commissioning for the infrastructure of over 5 hyper-scale DC assets.
- Minimum 3 years of project management or design management experience and strong management skills to perform day-to-day management of complex project portfolio.
- Good knowledge of variable design standards, including BICSI, TIA, Uptime Institute Tier Standard, etc. Participating in training courses of Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) would be preferable.
- Ability to perform pre-sale engagement and technical solution effectively with multi-function teams.
- Confident in handling customers, taking the lead during meetings, and engaging customers on technical and non-technical matters.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in Mandarin (Primary) and English.
- Excellent and proactive problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills with high resilience and drive in achieving objectives and goals. High desire for innovation and learning.
