The Role

We are seeking a Manager, People Business Partner to support our businesses across Southeast Asia and Australia. This role is ideal for a commercially minded HR professional who has built strong generalist or business partnering experience and is ready to take on broader regional exposure in a global, matrixed professional services environment.

You will play an important role in supporting managers and employees across the region, providing practical, commercially grounded People advice and helping to execute regional and global People priorities in a consistent and effective way. The role will cover day-to-day People matters, employee lifecycle activity, employee relations support, policy guidance, performance processes, and the implementation of key People initiatives.

This is a hands-on regional business partnering role that works close to the business while partnering with senior People leaders, global People Business Partners, and Centers of Excellence. The successful candidate will bring sound judgment, strong execution discipline, and the ability to balance employee experience, business needs, risk, and compliance considerations.

The role offers strong regional exposure and the opportunity to build broader business partnering capability while contributing to initiatives that strengthen the employee experience, support business performance, and enable consistent People practices across Southeast Asia and Australia.

Responsibilities

As a Manager, People Business Partner, you will:

  • Act as a day-to-day People advisor to managers and employees across Southeast Asia and Australia, providing timely and practical guidance on HR policies, employee matters, performance processes, promotion governance, and consistent decision-making.

  • Support managers in applying Kroll’s pay-for-performance philosophy, performance management approach, and People processes in a fair, consistent, and commercially appropriate way.

  • Partner with global People Business Partners and Centers of Excellence to support the regional implementation of People processes, frameworks, programs, and governance.

  • Support and coordinate key employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, internal mobility, role changes, transitions, and exits, ensuring a smooth and consistent employee experience.

  • Manage employee relations matters with sound judgment, partnering with senior People leaders, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders where appropriate to mitigate risk and achieve fair outcomes.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant employment legislation, regulatory requirements, and local market practices across the region, applying this knowledge to day-to-day People support.

  • Contribute to a high-quality employee experience through responsive support, clear communication, and consistent execution of People processes.

  • Use data and insights to identify trends, support decision-making, and contribute to practical recommendations for the business.

  • Participate in regional and global Human Capital projects and initiatives, bringing local insight and supporting effective implementation across Southeast Asia and Australia.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR business partnering or HR generalist experience in a multinational, matrixed organization.

  • Experience supporting managers and employees across multiple markets, preferably within Southeast Asia and/or Australia.

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; a degree in Human Resources, Human Capital, Business, Psychology, or a related field would be preferred.

  • Experience in professional services, financial services, consulting, or another fast-paced client-service environment would be advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of core HR processes, including performance management, employee relations, compensation processes, promotions, employee lifecycle activity, and policy application.

  • Sound judgment and the ability to balance employee considerations, business impact, risk, and compliance requirements.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build credibility with managers, employees, regional stakeholders, and global People colleagues.

  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and follow through across multiple countries and stakeholder groups.

  • Confidence to offer constructive challenge, escalate appropriately, and support recommendations with data, insight, and practical reasoning.

  • Comfort using data and insights to identify trends, guide decisions, and measure the impact of People initiatives.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience using HR systems and reporting tools is preferred.
