Manager, Industrial Excellence & Lean Programs

Driving Global Standardization, Waste Elimination, and Continuous Improvement Across the Supply Chain

At ResMed, our supply chain is evolving to deliver higher productivity, quality, and resilience at scale. To enable this transformation, we are building a world-class Lean program that embeds structured problem-solving, waste elimination, and standardization across all our global manufacturing and distribution sites.

We’re seeking a Manager, Industrial Excellence & Lean Programs to design, deploy, and mature ResMed’s global Lean framework. As a key member of the Industrial Engineering & Material Flow organization, this role will drive global consistency in Lean practices, enhance operational performance through structured improvement, and build a culture of continuous improvement grounded in data, rigor, and standard work.

This position is essential to our journey toward a next-generation supply chain — one that is standardized, scalable, and built on best-in-class methods for flow, efficiency, and performance.

The Opportunity

As the Manager, Industrial Excellence & Lean Programs, you will architect ResMed’s global Lean program, shaping the standards, tools, governance, and best practices that drive sustainable improvement across our supply chain network.

You’ll partner with regional engineering teams, site leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to deploy world-class Lean principles — enabling consistent performance, reducing waste, improving flow, and supporting capacity optimization globally.

This role blends deep Lean expertise with hands-on application, change leadership, and continuous improvement coaching. You will provide the technical backbone for how we create, sustain, and scale a unified Lean operating system across our global footprint.

Key Responsibilities1. Lean Strategy, Framework & Global Standards
  • Architect a unified global Lean program aligned to supply chain strategic priorities and financial performance commitments.

  • Develop standardized approaches for value-stream mapping, A3 problem solving, 5S, Kaizen, visual management, standard work, and waste elimination.

  • Create Lean maturity models, capability frameworks, and adoption roadmaps.

  • Establish governance routines — audits, readiness assessments, maturity scoring, compliance reviews — that directly link Lean adoption to quantifiable performance outcomes.

  • Define how Lean-driven improvements translate into measurable $ savings and operational efficiency improvements, ensuring standards include clear expectations for benefit capture.

  • Build and maintain the global Lean Operating System as the reference model used by all sites, with explicit financial and operational targets tied to its use.

2. Global Program Deployment & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Lean deployments across manufacturing and distribution sites worldwide.

  • Facilitate Kaizen workshops, structured problem-solving events, and cross-functional CI initiatives.

  • Coach site teams to translate global standards into daily practices that drive measurable improvement.

  • Develop global playbooks, templates, and toolkits that enable repeatable, high-quality execution.

  • Ensure each deployment includes quantified waste and cost-reduction opportunity assessments, targeted improvement plans, and financial validation of delivered benefits.

3. Performance Analytics, Flow Improvement & Waste Reduction
  • Partner with Industrial Engineering to integrate Lean into layout design, material flow, and process standardization.

  • Apply data-driven methods to identify systemic waste and quantify improvement opportunities.

  • Build dashboards and analytics tools that track KPIs tied to Lean adoption, flow efficiency, standard work adherence, and waste reduction.

  • Create a global performance reporting cadence that measures Lean-driven $ savings, validates benefit realization, and highlights adoption leading indicators across all sites.

  • Leverage digital tools, simulation, and OEE analytics to enhance decision-making and operational outcomes.

4. Capability Building & Cultural Transformation
  • Implement global Lean training programs, certification pathways, and practitioner communities of practice.

  • Coach teams at all levels in Lean thinking and structured problem solving.

  • Drive a performance culture rooted in accountability for delivering financial results from Lean initiatives.

  • Reinforce disciplined execution, transparency, and continuous improvement across regional and site teams.

5. Cross-Functional Integration
  • Embed Lean into new site development, layout planning, and early-stage material flow design.

  • Partner with Automation, PMO, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure Lean drives safety, quality, and operational robustness.

  • Influence senior leaders to prioritize Lean adoption as a lever for cost productivity, capacity release, and network efficiency.

 Success Metrics

Lean Program Deployment & Governance

  • ≥80% of targeted sites achieve verified Lean-driven operational cost reductions exceeding 2% within 12–18 months of deployment of the Lean Operating System.

  • Annualized, validated $ savings delivered and reported through standardized governance cadences (finance-endorsed where required).

  • Site maturity scores improve year-over-year, with correlated improvements in leading indicators such as standard work adherence, CI participation, and audit results.

  • Reduction in process variation (measured through capability indices or defect rates) across all regions as a result of standardized Lean methods.

Flow, Productivity & Waste Reduction

  • Substantial improvement in productivity, flow efficiency, or space utilization directly attributable to Lean programs.

  • Quantifiable reductions in waste categories (inventory, motion, waiting, over-processing) with validated financial impacts.

  • Improvements in OEE or throughput where Lean plays a contributing role.

Capability Building & Cultural Maturity

  • ≥70% of targeted leaders and engineers trained and certified in Lean, with demonstrated practical application.

  • Establishment of a global Lean community of practice that drives shared learning and accelerates benefit realization.

  • Evidence of disciplined Lean behaviors embedded in daily management systems, resulting in measurable improvements to performance KPIs.

Why This Role Matters

This role is central to building a standardized, scalable, and globally governed operating system that elevates ResMed’s supply chain performance. By defining the standards, governing against them, and enabling consistent adoption across regions, you will ensure that the organization runs with discipline, efficiency, and predictability.

You will be shaping not only how we improve — but how we operate. The Lean systems, standards, and governance structures you implement will form the foundation of a high-performing, resilient supply chain capable of supporting ResMed’s long-term growth.
