Job Description

The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team within the DMO serves as the single point of contact for users across UOB for data issue escalations. The EDM team ensures that data hosted in data warehouse is of good quality and conforms to data standards such as completeness, accuracy and consistency, to support regulatory and management reports. The team also promotes data automation and makes use of data to help develop initiatives to improve productivity.

Data discovery through provision data requests to respective Data Playpen for business units across the Group. The objective advocates self-service data exploration and analysis within and among Business/Support Units. Data definition and specification documents are available to provide navigational guidance and support for data provision purposes.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with business units to understand data requirements and provision relevant datasets into designated playpens.
  • Manage and maintain data provisioning workflows across multiple environments, ensuring compliance with data governance policies.
  • Coordinate with platform engineering and data governance teams to ensure secure and auditable data movement.
  • Monitor data usage and access patterns to identify optimization opportunities and ensure data integrity.
  • Support onboarding of new users to the platform, including environment setup and access provisioning.
  • Maintain documentation of provisioning activities, data lineage, and environment configurations.
  • Troubleshoot data access issues and provide timely resolution in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Foster strong working & collaborative relationships with the business & technology stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in data operations, data provisioning, or data platform support.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), data lakes, and data warehouses.
  • Understanding of data governance, access control, and security principles.
  • Experience with scripting (e.g., Python, Shell) and data movement tools is a plus.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Good team player who possesses drive and initiative.
  • Excellent written / oral communication skills to effectively interact with different stakeholders and external vendors, able to work independently under pressure.
