Job Description: 

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide maternity cover and be part of the team supporting the legal function in the ASEAN & HK region. Reporting to the Legal Director, the ideal candidate will be a commercially minded legal professional with strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional to gain in-house experience in a dynamic business environment. You will work closely with various team, gain exposure to regional legal matters, and be a key contributor to key business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise and provide legal support for the Ingram Micro entities within ASEAN & HK.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on contracts of varying types primarily with respect to sales, services, leasing, financing, logistics, NDA as well as other corporate and commercial agreements.
  • Provide sound legal advice to business teams and various stakeholders across the region on a range of corporate, commercial and compliance matters.
  • Work closely with internal teams including sales, finance, HR, operations, and risk management to support business operations while ensuring legal compliance.
  • Develop, propose and monitor controls and processes for compliance with legal obligations, legislation and country / regional policies.
  • Manage relationships with external counsels and advisors.
  • Monitor changes to law that may impact the business.
  • Conduct training for business units and support functions on legal risks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice law in Singapore or any other common law jurisdiction.
  • At least 7 years of practical experience in a legal function, either in private practice or in-house role.
  • Extensive experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and risk assessment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills and effective negotiation skills.
  • Team player, energetic, resourceful, and hands-on individual.
  • Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Must be able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and write in Chinese is a plus, as some contracts may require review in Chinese.
