Overview of Role

The IT Network Engineer reports to the IT Infrastructure manager and the primary role is to be responsible for the evaluation, design, planning, implementation and support of Network related solutions with a global scope. You will be joining an international team of Network Engineers, contributing to the continuous optimization of our IT infrastructure services.

Assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation in projects focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development to production matters by performing operations activities within the project life cycle.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor the global network eco-system to ensure issues are addressed to maintain SLA’S
  • Become ICT Owner of specific products and ensure that all the responsibilities surrounding ICT ownership, such as product evolution, Design and documentation are addressed
  • Diagnose, analyze and solve problems over the numerous technologies (Gunvor Networks Global, Firewall related issues and Routing Issues)
  • Analyze network performance and provide operations reports on the network infrastructure
  • Design and perform installation of new sites
  • Be a project manager and technical resource on Global and regional Projects to implement new technologies
  • Provide architectural insight and possible improvements that could be made based on the Gunvor IT Strategy
  • Ensure that systems are managed per established SLA (Service Level Agreement)
  • Support for global deployment will require off-hours support across multiple time zones
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by manager

Profile

The individual should have the following experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of previous working experience as a network specialist from an international company
  • Wide understanding of global corporate technologies: Network Protocols (STP, ARP, DHCP, DNS and DNS management, IPSec); Geo-location technologies; Switching; Routing and Routers technologies (Peplinks); Web Proxy management; Fortinet firewalls; SSLVPN remote gateway technologies; WAN optimization; Load Balancers; Wifi Technologies
  • Knowledge in the following technologies is a plus: Cisco VoIP, Cisco Nexus vPC, Microsoft Azure, SDWan;
  • Global projects management experience
  • Good time management skills
  • Fluent English language skills, any other language is a plus
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and strong team-player skills
  • Team player with sense of urgency and respect of deadlines
  • Process oriented person.5+ years’ administrating experience and support other network related products such as AD, networking and related technical infrastructure
