What you will do
We are seeking an Intern for the Traffic Services Team to support the operational reliability of our IT and field‑device infrastructure. The role involves conducting scheduled system checks on workstations, servers, and databases, as well as performing first‑level diagnostics on WiFi‑enabled lighting control nodes and smart electrical meters deployed across the field environment.
The intern will also take on key responsibilities in supporting the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) lifecycle—covering device verification, fault assessment, shipment preparation, inbound RMA processing, and coordination with zone contractors. This role provides hands‑on exposure to system maintenance, field‑device troubleshooting, and technical logistics processes that ensure the smooth functioning of critical traffic systems.
How you will do it
System & Infrastructure Support
- Perform routine health checks on workstations, servers, and databases to ensure operational availability.
- Conduct first‑level troubleshooting, identifying symptoms, isolating faults, and escalating complex issues with clear technical documentation.
- Generate structured reports on system performance, anomalies, and device‑level observations.
- Interface with end‑users to clarify issues, gather diagnostic details, and provide updates on resolution progress.
RMA & Field Device Support
- Support end‑to‑end RMA workflows, including device verification, documentation, issue categorization, and preparation for overseas shipment.
- Execute first‑level diagnostics on WiFi‑enabled lighting control nodes and WiFi‑enabled smart electrical meters.
- Record, pack, and label materials in accordance with export requirements, ensuring traceability.
- Receive incoming RMA shipments, verify quantities and condition, and log discrepancies.
- Manage controlled issuance and return of lighting control nodes and smart meters to/from zone contractors.
- Maintain comprehensive RMA tracking logs and produce detailed technical reports.
