Function Overview

We offer different internship opportunities in different departments and locations of our Wholesale bank. This vacancy focusses on positions within TRM department.

TRM covers market risk management & control and product control within ING.

- Under market risk management and control, the team ensures that the trading (Financial Markets) and banking books of the bank are governed in line with the risk appetite set by the board and the senior management

- Product control activities are related to controlling the P&L and balance sheet of the different trading desks under Financial Markets.

Duties and responsibilities

Singapore is the regional hub for ING, including for market risk activities. There are a number of different Financial Markets desks controlled/supported by TRM including rates, credits, FX, structured products, non-linear derivatives, etc. The internship would cover:

  • Understanding the business of the desk and how the risk framework is designed to control the activities

  • Daily P&L and Risk reporting and analysis

  • Working on ad hoc ongoing projects related to risk management

  • Assisting the team lead in specific risk analysis as and when required

There would be exposure to policies and procedures governing this desk, which in turn are based on a number of items including regulations, bank’s risk management philosophy, current economic climate, etc.

What do we ask of you? (Skills & Specifications)

- Major in Finance/Accounting and/or Quantitative Finance streams (is a plus)

- Good written and oral communication skills

- Should have sufficient knowledge of MS Excel

- VBA / coding knowledge is a plus

- Good time management and adaptability
