What does the Interest Rates Trading Team do in ING?

Interest Rates Trading is part of the Financial Markets division in ING. The Singapore desk provides pricing and liquidity in interest rate derivatives to the broad spectrum of ING corporate clients as well as to ING Asia’s regional rates trading desks in Seoul, Shanghai, Manila, and Taipei.

Our mandate covers Interest Rate Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, and FX Forwards/Swaps, in G10 and 10 other Asian currencies.

What would you be doing?

  • Assisting with BAU tasks such as risk checks, reporting, and cash management

  • Working closely with our traders to support risk management, trading strategies, and P&L calculations

  • Maintaining and improving existing files and processes – which could be part of larger projects that will benefit the desk

What qualities, skills and other criteria are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria: 

  • You should have legal work rights in the country of internship.

  • Self-driven in learning and process improvement

  • Intermediate understanding of Global Financial Markets

  • Basic understanding of derivatives

  • Strong command of Excel (VBA is a big plus) - e.g. nested logic functions, lookups

What would you gain from this internship?

An indepth understanding of risk management within the rates trading environment as well as a the processes involved in hedging risks profitably within mandated strategies in an efficient and compliant manner.
