Summary:

Applying data analytics and machine learning techniques on the big data from quality area for faster quality metrics drift detection. Develop an end-to-end solution from data query, pre-processing, analytics and results visualization.

Department: Quality Engineering Advanced Process Control

Project Title: product quality guardian using advanced data analytics and machine learning

Description:

  • Data analytics and machine learning has been introduced in the Micron manufacturing operations to improve efficiency. There are intensive quality metrics monitoring before product being shipped out. New machine learning and artificial intelligence based data analytics methods are essential to safeguard the quality of micron's products

  • In this project, a novel method will be developed to leverage analytics and machine learning on the big data generated from various electrical, physical tests and measurements to decide the best operation recipe for the best quality of the products

  • The student will have the opportunity to learn and apply industrial data analytics, modeling, simulation and optimization skills to solve the practical issues and bring real impact on the state-of-arts semiconductor manufacturing process

  • The intern will also have opportunity to participate to an end-to-end solution development team to contribute ideas and learn from industrial subject experts

Scope: Explore various machine learning techniques for the feature selection, modeling and simulation on the bigdata involving semiconductor test and measurement. Explore inline and probe data correlation. Explore multiple variables optimization

Deliverable:

  • Significant feature selection from large amount of data

  • Accurate modeling of the quality metrics

  • Optimization of the processing recipe

Impact of Project: improved product quality control

Skillset Require general problem solving, data analytics, strong knowledge in python and a good knowledge in R

Course of interests: data analytics related courses, i.e., engineering, statistics, computer science, data science

Duration Period: 3 months (summer Internship from 2025 May to 2025 Aug)

Location: Micron F10N, 1 North Coast Drive.
