Head of Singapore

About IG Group

IG Group is a FTSE 100 financial technology company operating at the intersection of retail trading, technology and capital markets. Founded in 1974 as the world's first spread betting firm, IG has grown into a global leader in online trading, serving over 1.3 million clients worldwide across Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and North America through trusted brands including IG, tastytrade and Freetrade.

Overview

We're looking for a commercial leader to own IG's Singapore business, end to end. This is a full P&L role: you'll set the growth agenda, run the business day to day, lead the local team, and act as the face of IG in one of our most established and strategically important markets in the region. Singapore is a profitable, mature business with a strong client base and a demanding regulator. This role is about defending that base, growing it, and running it well.

This is a senior, high-ownership seat reporting to the Managing Director, APAC. You'll work closely with Product on the overall direction for the retail proposition in the market: how we go to market, and what gets built for Singapore clients.

Why This Role Exists

Singapore matters. It's an established, profitable market, a regional benchmark for how IG operates under a serious regulator, and one of the most important businesses in the region. This role carries the number, runs the business day to day, and owns the relationships that determine how we perform in the market. It's the seat that owns Singapore's commercial success: defending the base, running it well, and finding the next layer of growth.

What You'll Own

The Singapore P&L. Own revenue, growth and margin for Singapore. Defend the established base, find the next layer of growth, and carry the number. You own the plan and the delivery against it.

Running the business day to day. Lead the Singapore operation and the local team across sales, client management and local marketing. Keep an established business performing: pipeline, conversion, service, and the operational discipline a mature market demands.

Distribution and growth. Own how we acquire and grow clients in Singapore across retail and premium segments. Build partnerships, run the local marketing funnel with Marketing, and turn Singapore's brand strength into commercial results.

Client retention and lifetime value. Own the relationship with the existing base. Work retention, reactivation and cross-sell, and partner with Product and Marketing to keep clients active and funded.

The partnership with Product. Work hand in glove with the Head of Product, APAC and the Product Lead for Singapore on the overall direction for the retail proposition in the market: how we go to market and what gets built. Bring the commercial reality into product decisions and give a clear steer on new propositions, including IG's retail crypto offering as it comes to market. Today the retail proposition runs on IG Markets, our mobile-first platform, while the IG Trading platform serves more sophisticated, advanced traders. Working out the path to the right combined front end for both audiences, and steering the migration that gets us there, is part of this remit.

MAS and regulatory engagement. Represent IG with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and operate the business under its CMS licence. Own conduct, market integrity and the licensing relationship, and carry the regulatory reality back into commercial decisions.

The face of IG in Singapore. Be IG's senior presence in the market with media, partners and industry bodies. Build the brand's standing and open the doors that commercial growth depends on.

Competitive positioning. Track the Singapore competitive set at the level of detail that drives decisions, and use it to sharpen how we position and price in the market.

Stakeholder management. Carry the Singapore narrative to divisional and group leadership. Build the plan, defend it, evolve it as the market moves, and bring people with you.

What You'll Bring

You've owned and grown a P&L or revenue book in a regulated trading, brokerage or fintech business, and you've led the commercial and operational side of a market, not just a function. You have a genuine sales orientation and the discipline to balance aggressive growth against compliant, sustainable practice.

This role requires direct, hands-on experience with MAS Capital Markets Services (CMS) licensing. You've held a role responsible for or operating under a CMS licence, you understand the Singapore regulatory environment in depth, and you know what MAS expects of a licensed entity. This is a firm requirement, not a nice to have.

You've built, led and coached high-performing commercial teams, and you're comfortable as a senior external voice with regulators, media and partners. You know the Singapore market and the local competitive landscape in CFDs, FX and brokerage, and ideally you bring an existing network across the city's financial services and fintech community.

Experience running an established, profitable business matters here as much as a growth track record. We want someone who can defend and grow a mature market at the same time.

The Fit

This is a senior P&L seat with real ownership: an established, profitable business to run and grow, a direct line to the Managing Director, APAC, and the mandate to be the face of IG in one of the region's most important markets. It's demanding, commercially intense and closely regulated, and it offers the rare combination of a strong base to defend and genuine room to grow. If that's the mandate you've been looking for, we should talk.

Diversity & Inclusion

We believe that diversity is vital to success. It fuels creativity, drives innovation and sets us up for global success. We're committed to building teams with a variety of perspectives and skills, and we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to join us on this journey.
