Role
The Head of Pakistan Operations is responsible for overseeing site operations to drive operational efficiency and business growth, manage risk, and ensure the strategic execution of the company’s activities in Pakistan. This role provides leadership and guidance across all local teams, offering insights on process optimization, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing overall business performance. Additionally, the role requires maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the globe.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth day-to-day operations while aligning with the company’s broader strategic goals and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Pakistan site operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and cost optimization.
- Ensure site operations align with the company’s long-term vision and business objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all site-related operational matters.
- Track and analyze personnel-related key performance indicators (KPIs) as set by the People Team to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. Partner with Talent, HRBPs, and Recruitment teams to attract top talent, monitor regional trends and identify areas for improvement to foster a high-performance culture and drive employee engagement.
- Engage with business stakeholders globally to facilitate the establishment of new teams or support the expansion of existing teams.
- Mentor and coach local employees, identify training needs and work with the Global L&D team to deliver training targeted to the needs of the staff in Pakistan. Implement development plans to bridge skill gaps.
- Collaborate with local functional leads in Global Editorial, Commercial, Data & Workflow, and Technology & Product to ensure seamless integration of business functions.
- Partner with the Legal and Compliance team to ensure all operations comply with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and implement risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and business continuity plans.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of experience in the financial, information, or technology sectors.
- 10+ years of leadership and management experience, with a strong track record of operational oversight.
- 5+ years of experience in a matrix organization, preferably in a regional or global operations role.
- Strong background in operations management, strategic execution, and business alignment with global objectives. Data operations management experience is a plus.
- Solid understanding of local compliance, regulatory frameworks, and corporate governance in Pakistan.
- Expertise in risk assessment, business continuity planning, and operational mitigation strategies.
- Experience in mentoring, coaching, and workforce development to bridge skill gaps and enhance team capabilities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
