We are hiring a Head of Accounting, APAC with strong leadership skills that will lead our accounting activity in the region, working together with APAC management, FP&A, IT, Treasury, Supply chain, Tax and other functions. This position will be based in Singapore or Australia and will be responsible for all accounting operations aspects, reporting directly to Director of Finance at Medison's corporate headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the accounting framework across APAC, ensuring consistency, scalability, and compliance with corporate standards.
- Provide accounting & tax compliance support to regional stakeholders.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy in the financial reporting and closing process to allow for insight generation to support strategic decision-making.
- Define and align regional financial and operational processes with corporate finance leadership.
- Support APAC and country management in establishing, managing, and reporting on financial flows, ensuring alignment with APAC FP&A, APAC Supply Chain, and corporate guidelines to enhance efficiency in the region.
- Establish and enforce internal controls frameworks, including expense management and travel policies.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Lead special financial initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Over 7 years of experience in a leading financial role in multinational companies
- CPA with a Big 4 firm experience - must
- Fluent in English – must – Mandarin and/or Korean - Advantage
- Extensive experience with managing statuary reporting requirements in APAC
- In-depth/working knowledge of local tax, VAT/ GST and CIT requirements and more generally APAC accounting laws, standards and regulations
- Experience with Pharma / Biotech companies - advantage
- Capacity as a regional APAC finance manager position – must
- Acquaintance with NetSuite ERP Systems - Advantage
