Position Description
We are looking for an experienced FX/Rates Strategist to join our Economics & FICCs team. As a FX/Rates Strategist, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of FX and interest rate markets in Asia, factoring in the context of core global FX/rates markets. Your insights and recommendations will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' investment and hedging strategies. This position requires expertise in both currency and interest rate markets, as well as a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape, policy architecture, and market instruments in Asian markets. The role is based in in Singapore or Hong Kong.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth and insightful analysis of FX and interest rate markets in Asia, embedding the core global context while utilizing your deep understanding of the regulatory landscape, policy architecture, and market instruments in Asia.
Generate investment and hedging recommendations for clients based on analysis of macroeconomic, economic policies, and market dynamics.
Collaborate with internal economics team members to get their economic insights to be used for trading strategies and provide insights to clients.
Produce well-researched reports and contribute to regional/global publications, focusing on investment opportunities and trading recommendations across Asian FX/rates markets.
Present your ideas and recommendations to internal and external clients, including through marketing trips to different regions.
Requirements
Master’s degree or above in an economics (and/or finance) discipline.
Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience as a Strategist covering FX and Rates products, with a proven track record.
In-depth understanding of Asian economies and markets, encompassing regulatory landscape, policy architecture, and market instruments.
Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams and clients.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, creative thinker, and a keen ability to curate investment relevant analysis.
An individual with a proactive mindset, takes initiative, express intellectual curiosity, propose new ideas, deliver on independent projects, and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Strong quantitative skills are an advantage, including economic/market modelling, econometric analysis, and coding. Strong Excel skills are a must.
Fluent in both spoken and written English, ideally Mandarin as well.
Stay up to date on regulatory requirements, ensure compliance with relevant regulations and maintain relevant licenses.
