Position Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced FX/Rates Strategist to join our Economics & FICCs team. As an FX/Rates Strategist, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of FX and interest rate markets in Asia, factoring in the context of core global FX/rates markets. Your insights and recommendations will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' investment and hedging strategies. This position requires expertise in both currency and interest rate markets, as well as a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape, policy architecture, and market instruments in Asian markets. The role is based in Singapore.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth and insightful analysis of FX and interest rate markets in Asia, embedding the core global context while utilizing your deep understanding of the regulatory landscape, policy architecture, and market instruments in Asia.

  • Generate investment and hedging recommendations for clients based on your analysis of macroeconomic data and policies.

  • Collaborate with internal economics team members to develop trading strategies and provide insights to clients.

  • Produce well-researched reports and contribute to regional/global publications, focusing on investment opportunities, trading recommendations, and Asian markets.

  • Present your ideas and recommendations to clients, including through marketing trips to different regions.

Requirements

  • University master’s degree in economics (and/or finance).

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience and knowledge working as an Economist and/or Strategist covering FX and Rates markets. Experience from the buyside would be a plus.

  • Deep understanding of and proven thought-leader on Asian economies and markets, encompassing regulatory landscape, policy architecture, and market instruments.

  • Intellectual curiosity and passion for financial markets, macroeconomics, and current affairs.

  • Good interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams and clients

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, creative thinker, and a keen ability to curate investment relevant analysis.

  • Desire to take initiative, propose new ideas, deliver on independent projects, and excel in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong quantitative skills are an advantage, including economic/market modelling, econometric analysis, and coding. Strong Excel skills are a must.

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Holding requisite licenses
