Job Summary

This role provides leadership and coordinates the financial management of the various business operations. With a business savvy mindset, this role acts as a buffer and advocate for the team, translating strategic goals into actionable plans and ensuring a psychologically safe and collaborative work environment.

Other areas covered include statutory reporting, financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, performance management, risk management (insurance, risk register, BCP, etc), training and development of team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equip with strong technical expertise (accounting and tax, E2E processes, regulatory) to guide the team to deliver accurate and timely financial and business solutions to support the businesses
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating financial data into actionable business insights and challenging assumptions to drive better outcomes and achieve the budget
  • Play a key role in commercial decision-making, pricing strategies, and capital management
  • Identify issues and gaps and collaborate with other functions to improve on development, manufacturing and supply chain operations impacting the results or positions of the business
  • Foster a supportive and high-performance culture within the finance team, with a focus on coaching, skills development, and long-term career growth.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, board reporting and communications
  • Monthly review of Balance Sheets and their schedules, including stock reconciliations and key control accounts, to ensure timely follow up of outstanding matters on the balance sheet
  • Review open Purchase Orders/ Sales Orders and AP/ AR ageing and related CF projection
  • Review team reporting tasks and month end close milestones to ensure preparation of consolidated financial statements in line with Games group reporting deadline
  • Ensure compliance with SFRS/IFRS and other relevant accounting standards
  • Attend to audit, tax and corporate secretarial queries and ensure all statutory audit and tax completion are within Group timeline and filing of entity accounts in line with statutory deadlines and other local laws and requirements
  • Maintain and monitor Cashflow forecast by regularly reviewing working capital requirements in collaboration with AP collections team for CFO/ FC’s review
  • Assist CFO on annual insurance renewal for the Games Group as part of the Group Insurance renewal exercise
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives to improve process efficiency, automation, and scalability
  • Champion change by engaging stakeholders, communicating benefits, and driving adoption of new tools and ways of working
  • Utilize data analytics tool to drive automation in work areas with tools like Power automate/app/BI
  • Any other tasks assigned by CFO/ CEO

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least 10 years of management role experience working in corporate/MNC
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Business Partner role with strong financial exposure
  • At least 5 years in supervisory role
  • Strong, demonstrable technical accounting skills, particularly in IFRS, and familiar with preparing consolidation of businesses & their financial statements
  • Proven experience working with auditors
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office application, preferably with some exposure with Microsoft power applications like Power BI and Power Automate

  • Capable of multitasking and adhering to internal or external operational and financial deadlines
  • Ability to effectively plan/manage/prioritise own workload
  • Ability to support/guide and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working in cross-cultural environments and managing multi-location teams

Qualifications/Education

  • Degree in Accountancy or Finance or Economics from a reputable university. Professional qualifications (CPA/CA/ACCA)
  • Good technical accounting skills
  • Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex financial information for non-finance stakeholders
