About The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, driven and strategic Finance Director to lead Finance Operations across APAC. This role will manage core finance operations, drive process excellence, and act as a key bridge between finance and other functions. You will work in close partnership with cross-functional teams across Data, Product, Legal, Compliance, and HR to ensure cohesive execution of business and financial strategies. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in financial institutions, and a foundation in Big 4 audit.
What You’ll Be Doing 
  • Leading a team of finance operations personnel in various locations including Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS or local statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all local tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and the region's regulatory requirements (e.g., MAS, ASIC, AUSTRAC).
  • Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure compliance with financial and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement the regional financial strategy by providing financial guidance to the regional leadership teams to support decision-making and business growth.
  • Develop financial models and strategic frameworks to assess business opportunities and risks.
  • Implement financial systems and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability to ensure robust internal controls over financial reporting and intercompany transactions.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to support business growth and financial controls.
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team across the APAC region by developing talent within the team, providing training, guidance, and career development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that promotes accountability and excellence.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional financial regulations and cryptocurrency market developments.
What We Look For In You 
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • ACCA, CPA or equivalent certifcation
  • 12+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a cryptocurrency exchange, fintech, or financial services company.
  • Strong understanding of traditional financial markets, cryptocurrency markets, blockchain technology, and digital asset accounting.
  • Expertise in IFRS and other jurisdiction specific financial reporting standards.
  • Proven experience with financial systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite) and automation tools.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience managing multi-currency operations and intercompany transactions.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams in multiple jurisdictions.
