Your Role

The Finance Manager is a member of the External Reporting team within the Finance department of ING Wholesale Banking Asia. Familiar with MAS customer static requirement and SSIC Industry code. You will liaise with internal stakeholders and ensure the accuracy of client customer static information and gatekeep accuracy of information used for local regulatory reporting. You are result-oriented and have sound knowledge and experience in the Financial sector and MAS requirements. You are comfortable communicating across business functions and levels of seniority. At the same time, you are detail orientated and
capable of approaching issues from analytical and strategic perspective and then defining concrete solutions that are practical to implement. You are independent, like to work on multiple tasks and can pro-actively manage multiple stakeholders.

Your most important tasks will include:

  • Participate in customer static data tagging advise relating to regulatory reporting.
  • Work closely with business and other stakeholders to provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of SSIC and MAS guidelines to resolve complex queries and issues and to enable others to learn and be guided.
  • Finance innovation projects – you will drive and lead finance innovation projects to contribute to the refinement of regulatory and statutory reporting templates to improve efficiency and quality of regulatory reporting
  • Execute and perform reconciliation of complex statutory and regulatory reporting, identifying and interpreting complex patterns and trends and translating them into actionable recommendations.
  • Identify and manage stakeholders up to management level, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the plan to ensure information requests for regulatory reporting are well understood and complied with.
  • Help safeguard the bank: support internal control of the bank via focus on a) efficiency and effectiveness of operations, b) reliability of regulatory reporting, c) compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and d) safeguarding the assets of the organization.
  • Act as a pro-active business partner and advisor for internal stakeholders in all the above-mentioned areas.

Who are we looking for, your profile & competencies:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably also with audit background or professional (CPA/ACCA) qualification. Knowledge of local regulatory reporting requirements (MAS) an added advantage.
  • Hands on in preparing and reviewing of regulatory reports, survey and any ad hoc requests from the regulator
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills with demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills with proven success in influencing business decisions.
  • Product knowledge of wholesale banking products would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel. Excel Macro working knowledge.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across a cross-functional team and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong team player, self-starter and motivator, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Successful candidate will be results focused, with high energy, flexible and with good work prioritization skills.
