The Team You’ll Work With

Carta is looking for a Business Development - Events & Marketing Intern to join our APAC and Middle East team in January 2025.

Carta opened its Singapore office in 2021, and since then, has been building a world-class team to support the startup ecosystem across Asia Pacific. The Singapore team is lean and agile, and composed of local venture industry experts and Carta experts.

The Business Development - Events & Marketing Intern for APAC and Middle East will report to Carta’s Head of Partnerships and Business Development, APAC + Middle East. This is a role that interfaces with both the VC and Startup business units at Carta. 

You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in organising large-scale events, managing cross-functional collaborations, and contributing to impactful business development initiatives. This role is perfect for someone looking to build expertise in marketing and events coordination and develop a strong foundation for a career in events, marketing or business development.

The Problems You’ll Solve

  • Organise, administer, and coordinate large-scale programmes and events across key regions, including the UAE, Japan, Australia, and Singapore, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Assist the marketing team in creating high-quality collateral and promotional materials tailored to specific events and campaigns.
  • Track and follow up with partners and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely publication of online resources and materials.
  • Coordinate Carta’s participation in virtual and offline business development events, managing logistics, schedules, and communications with precision.
  • Maintain detailed records and workflows to ensure alignment across teams and provide regular updates on progress and deadlines.
  • Identify and proactively resolve potential roadblocks in event planning and execution, maintaining high standards of quality and timeliness.

As a Business Development Events and Marketing intern at Carta, you will be an integral part of growing this function in this region. You will drive demand in the market and help oversee Carta’s growth in APAC and Middle East.

About You

  • Has exceptional attention to detail and thrives in event planning by establishing structure and organisation, creating comprehensive task lists, and diligently following through to ensure every detail is executed flawlessly.
  • Is highly meticulous, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks, even in fast-paced and complex scenarios.
  • Excels in project coordination, managing multiple tasks and deadlines with precision and efficiency, with a clear ability to prioritise and rank tasks to focus on what needs to be done first.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration skills, effectively engaging with partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Possesses a proactive mindset, anticipating challenges and addressing them with creative and practical solutions.
  • Has an interest in events, marketing, and the start-up ecosystem, and is eager to learn and grow in a dynamic role.

Nice To Have

  • Experience managing data in a CRM system (Preferably: Salesforce)
  • Proficiencies with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (GSuite)
  • Knowledge of venture capital and startup ecosystem
  • Experience working at a high-growth software company or venture capital firm

This internship is on-site and located in Singapore.
