Support planning, design and site supervision for coastal civil engineering projects (reclamation, ports, quay walls, jetties). Perform geotechnical, C&S and environmental design/analysis, manage subcontracts and main contracts, ensure statutory compliance, engage stakeholders, assist tender submissions and department activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the team in planning & design works for civil engineering Projects (e.g. land reclamation, port construction and other coastal structures) for local and/or overseas
- Assist the Executive Engineer / Design Manager to carry out:
- Plan for Site investigation and result interpretation,
- C&S, environmental and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation (i.e: deep and shallow foundation, temporary and permanent retaining system, soil improvement, instrumentation, etc)
- Managing sub contracts (i.e: soil investigation contract, Accredited Checker contract, biodiversity contract etc)
- Managing main contracts
- Supervise both design and/or site work
- Ensure all engineering works comply with all relevant statutory standards, regulations and Codes of Practice
- Engage and manage stakeholders, such as clients, design team, site team and other relevant parties
- Support on pursue project : assist in tender submission
- Assist in other Coastal department activities i.e: beach clean up, sports day, etc
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering recognised by BCA/IES/ACES and from reputable university
- Fresh graduates are welcome
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Team player and able to multi-task
- Discipline, self-motivated and resourceful
- Have relevant experience in large-scale infrastructure and/or reclamation projects are advantageous (up to 5 years)
- Experience in contract administration will be advantageous
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite of Software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc)
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis etc will be advantageous
