Director, Tax
Singapore | Full Time | Permanent

About DayOne
DayOne builds and operates hyperscale data centers across seven markets in APAC and Europe. We raised US$4.5B in Series C funding and are expanding into new markets at pace. As the business grows across jurisdictions, the tax function becomes increasingly consequential and this role sits at the center of that.

About the Role
In this permanent role, you’ll lead DayOne's group tax function across APAC and Europe: owning compliance, planning, transfer pricing, and structuring as the company enters new markets and scales existing ones. This is a senior regional role with direct influence on how DayOne's tax footprint is defined, managed, and protected across multiple jurisdictions. You'll work closely with senior leadership and external advisors, and your decisions will be visible at the highest levels of the business.

  • Manage all aspects of group tax compliance across jurisdictions, including oversight of external tax advisors and timely review and preparation of tax returns.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies aligned to operational needs and DayOne's 3-to-5-year expansion roadmap.
  • Lead transfer pricing documentation and ensure full compliance with TP regulations across all markets.
  • Develop and maintain tax structures aligned with corporate tax strategy and local regulatory requirements across APAC and Europe.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation across relevant jurisdictions and advise senior leadership on implications and required responses.
  • Support new market entry structuring; a critical workstream given DayOne's active international expansion.
  • Review financial reports, monitor revenue and expenditure trends, and ensure accurate tax provisioning while optimizing the group's tax position.
  • Conduct global tax research including treaty interpretation and cross-border rate analysis.
  • Leverage a network of regional tax specialists and advisors to support group tax matters across markets.

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Qualified Accountant — ACA, ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent — ideally with a Big 4 background.
  • Minimum 5 years of regional tax experience in multinational or cross-functional environments, ideally in real estate, infrastructure, or data centers.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge across compliance, planning, transfer pricing, and international structuring.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on cross-border tax matters across multiple APAC jurisdictions.

Soft Skills

  • Communicates complex tax positions clearly to senior stakeholders who are not tax specialists.
  • Works effectively across functions and geographies without losing precision or accountability on technical matters.
  • Operates with the judgment and confidence of a senior advisor — shapes decisions, not just supports them.

Nice to Have

  • Direct experience structuring for new market entries in APAC or Europe.
  • Prior exposure to data center, real estate, or capital-intensive infrastructure tax environments.
  • Established network of regional tax advisors across DayOne's operating markets.

Why DayOne?
DayOne is at an inflection point — actively entering new markets, deploying significant capital, and building a tax function that needs to be as sophisticated as the business it supports. This role has real scope: you'll define how DayOne manages its tax position across a growing international footprint, work on structuring decisions that will shape the company for years, and operate with the visibility and influence that comes with a seat at the senior leadership table. If you want a tax career that moves at the pace of genuine business growth, the platform is here.

DayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
If you're ready to grow with one of the fastest-moving companies in the data center industry, apply now and be part of our global journey.
