Job Profile Summary

Based in Singapore we are looking for a Director in the NSC APAC team. Your role as Regional Account Manager is to cover multinational clients at Regional Headquarter level. You would work closely work with Local Account Managers in APAC to drive our Network Business in-country. Further, you would also assume responsibility as Local Account Manager (LAM) for your clients with subsidiaries in Singapore.

You will be an integral member of the APAC NSC Team growing existing relationships and developing new relationships for ING’s APAC network, optimizing the delivery of all products to clients in collaboration with relevant product and sector teams.

Besides being client facing, you will also work closely with internal stakeholders including but not limited to Credit Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, Customer Services, Mandate Approvers, Products and Relationship Managers in other locations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for relationship management and business origination and development for a designated portfolio of NSC client relationships, likely to be for German, French, Benelux clients, in Singapore and APAC. This includes identifying and originating opportunities across the full range of the bank’s offerings in Lending, Financial Markets, Transaction Banking Services and advisory products.
  • Primary point of contact for designated corporate clients, serving their commercial banking needs in APAC (as Regional Account Manager) and in Singapore (as Local Account Manager).
  • Maximize ING’s share of wallet on client level and grow overall revenues and relationship economic profit of Singapore LAM portfolio.
  • Drive, develop and lead the effective implementation of the bank’s business strategies and policies to achieve financial and business objectives while ensuring sound and prudent business management in accordance with statutory, regulatory and group governance requirements.
  • Actively engage in local business community to identify, onboard and grow business with key prospect clients with local presence or regional treasury center in Singapore.
  • Work closely with Parent Account Managers (in client’s home countries) and relevant Local Account Managers (in SE Asia) to execute the client account plans.
  • Portfolio monitoring including but not limited to reviews/health checks, approval conditions, covenants and to seek required approvals where applicable.
  • Responsible for Know Your Customer (KYC) within the team.
  • Periodic industry research, Prepare reports/memos and presentations with the team.
  • Report and mitigate risks in a timely and reliable manner.
  • Contribute to department or branch projects.

What we're looking for:

  • At least 12 years’ experience in banking industry, preferable knowledge in client coverage role.
  • Strong relationships with clients and/or Parent Account Managers in ING’s key outbound countries, with a focus on French client portfolio would be an advantage. Hence, relevant language fluency in French would be preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong command in both spoken and written English.
  • Proven track record of managing a portfolio of international clients as Parent Account Manager or Regional Account Manager.
  • Team player with ability to build effective working relationships with clients, product teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, detailed and meticulous.
  • Mature, self-motivated team player with ability to work independently and under tight timeline.
  • Strong collaboration mindset and ability to work with colleagues from different geographies.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word processing applications.
  • University degree in Finance/Economics, or relevant discipline.
