Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

Our China Export Advertising strategy is a long-term bet to help Chinese brands grow globally, using Netflix’s premium content and global reach to drive measurable outcomes across brand and performance objectives. We’re now seeking a Head of Advertising Sales, China Export to lead this effort and turn Netflix into the platform of choice for Chinese advertisers targeting global audiences.

About the Role

As the Head of Advertising Sales for China Export, you will lead the go-to-market strategy, revenue development, and client relationships for Chinese advertisers seeking international growth. This is a unique opportunity to build a cross-border business from the ground up—partnering with both local and global teams to develop scalable solutions, educate the market, and deliver long-term commercial success.

You will be based in Singapore and report to the APAC Head of Advertising.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute the China Export ad sales strategy with a focus on long-term partnerships, performance outcomes, and premium brand alignment.

  • Own and deliver revenue goals, identifying and securing partnerships with China-based advertisers, agencies, and holding companies focused on global expansion.

  • Develop the export playbook, working across Netflix teams to align on product, measurement, brand safety, and creative standards that meet the needs of Chinese brands targeting global markets.

  • Educate the market on Netflix’s value proposition, using case studies, insights, and thought leadership to drive understanding and demand.

  • Lead agency engagement and enterprise sales efforts, navigating complex organizational structures and driving consistent engagement across multiple stakeholders.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Netflix teams in APAC, EMEA, and the US to ensure campaign success and operational readiness across markets.

  • Be the voice of the customer, translating client feedback into product, measurement, and operational improvements.

  • Grow and mentor a high-performing team over time as the business scales.

What We’re Looking For

  • 15+ years of experience in digital and/or international advertising sales,  with exposure to export marketing, performance branding, or cross-border business development.

  • Deep understanding of the China advertising ecosystem and fluency in both Mandarin and English.

  • Proven ability to build new businesses or sales programs from scratch—with a strong bias toward action, experimentation, and results.

  • Strong agency relationships, especially with holding companies and China-based performance or export-focused agencies.

  • Experience selling brand or performance solutions to ambitious advertisers with high growth goals.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, storytelling, and consultative selling skills.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a builder’s mindset—this is a startup within Netflix.

  • Strong cross-cultural fluency and the ability to operate in a global matrixed environment.

  • Passion for entertainment, storytelling, and driving innovation in the ad industry.

  • Interest in our unique culture (read our culture memo to learn more).

If you’re excited by the challenge of launching a global ad business out of China—blending global media, performance marketing, and brand storytelling—we’d love to hear from you.
