The Role and the Team
The Director, APJ Sales Enablement is a senior member of Proofpoint’s Worldwide Sales Enablement team. This is a managerial role with no direct reporting relationships to start; however, as the theatre grows, the role may incorporate direct reports in the future.
Cross Functional Collaboration. The APJ Sales Enablement Director collaborates with Sales Leadership across APJ, Sales Operations, WW Sales Enablement, Product Marketing and other functional groups within APJ and across the company as needed.
Scope of Sales Enablement Responsibility. This role develops, implements, measures, and manages enablement programs to improve seller effectiveness, accelerate new sales hire ramp to productivity, improve forecast accuracy, and educates Sellers on how to improve the quality and quantity of sales activities to meet revenue objectives.
Reporting and Business Impact Analysis. Also critical to the ongoing success of sales enablement is the measurement of business impact. The Director:
- Identifies measurement models and uses diagnostic tools to help identify sales performance indicators
- Analyses the data and trends and shares with leadership conclusions supported by the data as to business impact and needs
- Recommends strategic sales enablement priorities, sales performance metrics and new training initiatives to address competency gaps to improve Seller skills as well as the company’s competitive advantage in the market.
The ideal candidate should be ambitious and forward thinking – someone who continuously sets the bar higher with the enablement programs. This candidate will have experience developing and delivering APJ-focused enablement programs within a global framework.
This role will be based in Singapore.
Your day-to-day
- Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Sellers, Technical Marketing, Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Finance, HR and other internal stakeholders as required to develop programs and content to enhance selling success.
- Leverage proven project management skills to develop and deliver enablement programs on time, in budget with well-articulated success metrics.
- Partner with sales teams to identify gaps in performance and develop recommendations and programs to improve.
- Think strategically about Proofpoint’s sales strategy and build programs to cover market, company, products and services, sales processes, sales methodology, manager, coaching, sales tools and skills training.
- Capitalize on your sales experience to reinforce Proofpoint’s sales methodology (MEDDICC).
- Take the strategies, competitive plays, and differentiation created by the Product Marketing team and transform them into compelling and persuasive enablement for the sales teams.
- Support sales certifications and work with sales managers to ensure compliance across teams.
- Define, measure and report on the effectiveness of sales enablement investments and programs.
What you bring to the team
- Experience with security software and/or network infrastructure as well as enterprise software or enterprise SaaS products. Successful sales experience in these areas a plus.
- Ability and desire to work across and collaborate cross-functionally at the senior leadership level.
- Ability to gain buy-in and acceptance for programs at the organizational as well as sales leadership level
- Aptitude for business strategy.
- Project management skills combined with an ability to define key performance metrics to measure impact of sales enablement initiatives on sales productivity and effectiveness.
- Exceptional people, presentation, verbal and written skills.
- Detail and results-oriented, organized, and possess multitasking skills.
- Experience managing teams with demonstrated leadership skills
- Proven track record within Sales Enablement and experience in facilitating and delivering sales training.
- Experience in sales methodology including MEDDICC and “Solution/Value Selling”
