Job Description
Digital Wealth Investment Advisor
The Investment Products & Solutions division is seeking a Digital Wealth Investment Advisor to define and elevate the craft of digital investment advisory across the Private Bank.
We are transitioning from legacy, rule‑based advisory logic to a data‑enhanced, propensity‑driven engagement model. This role operationalizes that shift — transforming CIO and IPS insights into hyper‑personalized, timely, high‑impact communication that increases penetration of House recommendations, drives advisor adoption, and enhances consistency of client outcomes. You will report directly to the Head of Digital Advisory (CFA).
Core KPIs
- Quality of advisory narratives tailored across investor archetypes and risk profiles, supported by hyper‑personalization as measured by advisor and client satisfaction and open rates of client communication materials
- Support business acquisition of new wealth clients and the growth of AUM and wallet share by sharpening the value proposition of advisory to help achieve AUM growth targets.
- Deepen and strengthen client wealth portfolios as measured by increased penetration of invested AUM.
Core Responsibilities
Advisory Quality, Narrative Craft & Maker–Checker Duties
- Define the bank’s approach to tailoring the format of hyper‑personalized advice for each investor archetype.
- Translate CIO/IPS insights into clear, well‑structured narratives that support advisor conversation flow and client decision‑making.
- Ensure all client‑facing advisory outputs generated from AI/ML recommendations deliver a personalized and engaging wealth advisory experience.
- Ensure accuracy, suitability, and alignment with the Bank’s House View, including strategic asset allocation, investor objectives, tactical shifts, thematic signals, and product convictions.
Embedded CIO/IPS Collaboration & View Articulation
- Partner with Sales Advisory and the Digital Engagement team to continually gather client insights and feedback on the bank’s advisory approach.
- Operate embedded within CIO and IPS, providing feedback on whether investment views are clearly articulated, coherent, and internally consistent.
- Appropriately challenge assumptions and advocate for clearer rationale where needed, while recognizing that final decisions remain with CIO and product specialists.
- Ensure the advisory engine reflects specialist‑validated logic, while offering grounded suggestions for improvement.
Domain Stewardship Across Product & Advisory Logic
- Act as a critical user and consolidator of CIO/IPS‑owned product shelves, advisory parameters, and investment lists.
- Suggest refinements to narrative positioning, factor emphasis, and communication strategy without altering underlying product logic or view formation.
Segmentation‑Aware, Hyper‑Personalized Expression
- Leverage model‑enabled hyper‑personalization (segment insights, behavioural signals, lifecycle stages) and contribute by recommending appropriate personalization factors and framing.
- Tailor communication formats to enhance relevance, resonance, and response quality across client archetypes.
GenAI‑Enabled Advisory Production
- Conduct content QA on GenAI‑generated materials, ensuring narrative accuracy, tonal consistency, and adherence to IPS governance.
- Diagnose issues, refine instructions, and manage regeneration cycles — without technical engineering responsibilities.
- Collaborate with AI Engineering and Digital Engagement teams to maintain controlled, repeatable, and governed content workflows.
Governance, Suitability & Advisory Controls
- Uphold and refine the governance framework for digital advisory outputs, including quality gates, auditability, and escalation paths.
- Ensure all expressions of the House View meet suitability, conduct, and compliance standards across markets.
- Contribute to reducing advisory inconsistency across channels, advisors, and client segments.
Advisor‑Facing Engagement, Feedback & Occasional Client Interaction
- Serve primarily as an advisor‑facing partner, helping RMs and IAs integrate thematic, tactical, and product‑level insights into client conversations.
- Participate in occasional client interactions, including feedback sessions and, on a truly exceptional basis, sales pitches or portfolio reviews.
- Drive adoption of digital advisory tools, using structured feedback loops to refine content formats and sequencing logic.
Continuous Multi‑Cadence Content Review & Refinement
This is not a high‑output writing role, but it carries significant editorial responsibility in collaboration with the AI Engineer to fine‑tune generative AI outputs for hyper‑personalization, investor archetypes, and different communication channels.
It is primarily review‑oriented, bridging specialist outputs with House View context, prevailing market sentiment, and client risk appetite.
You will review, refine, and sign off on diverse content types across multiple cadences, including:
- Daily market commentary
- Monthly pitchbooks
- Portfolio review narratives
- Thematic briefs
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 8–12+ years in Wealth or Asset Management with a strong track record in investment communications, thematic expression, and advisor‑oriented storytelling.
- Demonstrated ability to sequence narratives from framing to objections to closure, with impeccable accuracy.
- Chinese language proficiency and CFA charterholder strongly preferred.
Domain Expertise
- Deep understanding of Wealth Management: asset allocation, suitability, rebalancing, structured products, funds, fixed income, alternatives, and portfolio construction.
- Ability to bridge model‑driven quantitative signals with expert investment judgment to create cohesive messages.
Mindset & Working Style
- Structured, rigorous, precise, and meticulous about suitability and narrative alignment.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid human‑plus‑machine advisory workflow.
- Collaborative across CIO, IPS, Digital Advisory, Digital Engagement, and AI teams.
