Manage and improve governance, workflows, controls, and reporting for trade-related incentive schemes. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, government agencies, ministries, companies, and partner organizations to align policy intent, ensure compliance, address audit and process queries, and strengthen Singapore’s competitiveness as a commodity trading hub.
[What the role is]
The Trade Group in Enterprise Singapore is responsible for driving Singapore's trade and developing Singapore as a global commodity trading hub. Our Trade 2030 strategy seeks to deepen and widen trade by (i) working with existing global trading companies in Singapore to expand their presence here (ii) building a more diverse network of counterparties in Singapore (iii) promoting trade flows in new products. We also seek to strengthen Singapore’s trading ecosystem in areas such as innovation, talent and commodity derivatives.Within the Group, the Trade Development and Strategy (TDS) Division plays a central role in this effort, overseeing trade-related incentive schemes, and cultivating strategic partnerships with key ecosystem stakeholders with the view of embarking on impactful industry initiatives.
[What you will be working on]
You will strengthen governance and processes related to our schemes, and will also contribute to policy improvements that directly enhance Singapore's competitiveness and attractiveness as a global commodity trading hub. Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to shape and oversee incentive management to be effective and responsive to industry needs.
- Interacting across government agencies/ministries to ensure alignment on incentive policy intent and outcomes.
- Reviewing and streamlining incentive workflows, administrative and reporting processes.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulations and policy manuals
- Working with internal and external stakeholders on audit, policy and process-related queries
[What we are looking for]
We are looking for candidates with:
- 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to understand financial statements and verify financial entries
- Competent in sense-making and problem-solving
- Strong process improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen governance.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage companies, stakeholders and partner agencies effectively.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative mindset.
- Meticulous and detailed.
- Familiarity with corporate tax would be advantageous.
