Data Management Specialist

As a Data Management Specialist at OCBC, you'll play a critical role in shaping the bank's data strategy and driving business growth. You'll work with various stakeholders to design and implement data management solutions that meet the bank's evolving needs. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the bank's data management capabilities.
How you succeed

  • Receive and create security instruments (Equity/Bond/Fund/Structured Notes etc.) and counterparty information

  • Update instrument and counterparty information

  • Update other non-client/non-instrument general statics such as holiday tables, currency table, GIIN no.

  • Setup of nostro cash account

  • Updating debit/credit interest in the system

What you do

  • Ad hoc tasks / projects as assigned by Line Manager

  • Ensure the processes are executed in line with the SOPs of the team and ensure team members understand their roles

  • Execute the control framework of the team (eg. EOD checklist, incident management, etc)

  • Execute the client delivery framework and ensure team members understand the client experience and how they impact it

  • Handhold exceptions and escalations until the event is complete with full resolution

  • Reporting of statistics/volume of the team for MIS purpose

Who you are

- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in data management, data architecture, or a related field
- Strong technical skills in data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple stakeholders
- Experience with data management tools and technologies, such as data modeling software, data warehousing platforms, and data governance frameworks

Education Requirements

  • Polytechnic or University degree

  • Language and computer skills

  • Fluency in English is essential

  • Clear written & verbal communication skills with all levels of staff

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)
