Job Summary:

As a Global Compliance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing Bitdeer's compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies across all locations where we have business presence in – not limited to Asia, NORAM, Europe & Africa. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures, as well as managing regulatory relationships and conducting investigations. The Compliance Director also ensures our operations align with its strategic goals and risk appetite.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing compliance frameworks, which includes creating, updating, and maintaining policies and procedures related to AML/KYC, sanctions, data privacy, and other relevant areas.
  • Managing regulatory relationships by building and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Overseeing compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring that the company adheres to the specific regulations of each jurisdiction where it operates.
  • Conducting risk assessments by identifying and evaluating potential compliance risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Leading investigations of any incidents or violations of legal or regulatory requirements.
  • Providing training and guidance to employees on compliance policies and procedures and fostering a culture of compliance.
  • Staying up-to-date on regulatory changes by monitoring and analyzing new regulations and guidance from regulatory bodies.
  • Supporting licensing applications and regulatory management by leading relevant license applications and ensuring the company maintains compliance with license conditions.
  • Collaborating with other departments through working with legal, engineering, and other teams to ensure
    compliance across the organization.

    How you will stand out:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Economics, and/or Legal.
    • Possess strong knowledge of relevant regulations, with over 10 years of experience in AML/KYC regulations, sanctions, and regulations relevant to the blockchain and financial services industries.
    • Familiarity with the compliance challenges and opportunities in similar industries, preferably in the blockchain or fintech sectors.
    • Demonstrated strategic thinking capability, with a proven track record of successfully implementing compliance frameworks, navigating complex compliance requirements, and aligning them with business goals.
    • Equipped with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess compliance risks, develop effective solutions, and manage investigations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and manage stakeholders across all levels within and outside the organization.
    • Proven leadership and management experience, with a strong ability to build and lead successful compliance teams, develop and implement compliance strategies, and foster a culture of compliance.
    • Preferably equipped with global compliance knowledge and management experience across multiple geographies.
    • Good to have relevant certifications, such as AML specialist certifications (e.g., CAMS) or other professional qualifications.
    • Experience with compliance in areas such as Export Controls is an added advantage.
