POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Campus Operations Director, the Data Centre Cluster Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational management and performance of multiple data centre facilities within a designated cluster. This role ensures the continuous and efficient operation of data centre infrastructure and upholds high standards of service delivery. The successful candidate will lead a team of technical and operations staff, ensuring the delivery of critical services 24/7.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple data centres within the cluster, ensuring all systems and infrastructure function optimally, and achieve 100% uptime and compliance with customers' SLAs.
  • Implement and maintain operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure data centre efficiency and reliability.
  • Manage incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
  • Measure operational metrics, analyse data and identify risks.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations and technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with shift teams to ensure seamless 24/7 coverage and effective handovers between shifts.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and performance evaluations to enhance team capabilities and productivity.

Maintenance and Upgrades:

  • Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring all equipment and systems are serviced according to manufacturer and company standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal impact on operations.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all data centre operations comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and records to support compliance audits and certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with site-held accreditations, including, but not limited to ISMS, SOC2, and PCI DSS.

Customer Support:

  • Collaborate with the customer support team to provide “smart hands” services for retail customers, ensuring prompt and professional service delivery.
  • Address customer queries and issues related to data centre operations, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Support the Campus Director in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance data centre performance and support business growth.
  • Participate in budget planning and cost management activities to ensure operational efficiency and financial performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data centre operations, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling, and network systems.
  • Proven experience in managing technical teams and 24/7 operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex operational challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, or similar are highly desirable.
  • Work location in Tseun Wan
