We leverage modern technology and stacks to support and scale the bank’s applications and provide lasting value to our customers. How you succeed
As a Cloud Middleware Support Engineer, you will be the go-to liaison responsible for solving our stakeholder’s cases and arming them with required tools and techniques to help them get the most out of OCBC services.
What you do
Day to day operations in technologies like OpenShift/k8s, Redis & Kafka from an infrastructure perspective.
Provide technical support on full stack of OCBC Cloud Middleware services (e.g., application messaging, incident management, observability & recovery of services etc.)
Apply problem solving and troubleshooting techniques to identify, isolate the root cause and recover from reported problems.
Perform capacity planning and resource optimization.
Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with security policies.
Provide technical guidance and support to development and operations teams.
Monitor and troubleshoot OpenShift/Kafka/Redis infrastructure and application issues.
Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting for OpenShift/Kafka/Redis clusters.
Support Cloud Middleware services OpenShift/Kafka/Redis in a 24/7 operations and shift work will be required to include permanent nights & day shift covering weekends, and holidays.
Who you are
Possesses at least a Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years hands-on-experience on supporting Red Hat OpenShift, Kafka, or Redis technologies.
Knowledge of client-server, 3-tier architecture web applications & distributed systems.
System administration experience with troubleshooting OS, application logs and knowledge of networking, storage, etc. required to address system level issues.
A good team player and able to work effectively with stakeholders to resolve an issue to closure.
Exposure to Bash scripting, Python, Ansible and GitOps.
Willingness to cross learn and adapt other technologies
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent.
Certified in any of these technologies (OpenShift/K8s, Kafka & Redis)
5 years’ experience in managing container platforms, application services, cloud technologies e.g. VMWare, Apache Kafka, Redis, and OpenShift/Kubernetes
Demonstrate strong knowledge in technology infrastructure domain such as virtual server technologies, networking, internet protocols, scripting & observability (ELK).
Hands-on experience with Observability stack/tool like ELK, Grafana.
