The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) (Train-and-Place with Commitment to Hire) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand. 
 

The training programme consists of 15 months of local attachment with GSK. Due to the nature of the programme, we can only consider Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents. Due to the nature of this traineeship programme, kindly note that training allowances are CPF exempted.

Role Description:

We are looking for a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) trainee who will provide technical and business analysis of solutions in support of the manufacturing processes and will manage deployment, testing, validation, performance, operations and improvement of MES applications within Jurong site. This will involve a balance of business process understanding, technical breadth and the ability to operate in a flexible and agile way to drive efficiency and improvements to the Manufacturing process using MES applications.

This role will report to the Smart Manufacturing Director, and will be responsible for supporting the MES development as part of the Manufacturing Execution Suite work package, which aims to establish a touchless, paperless manufacturing execution platform for priority products in Jurong. On-the-job skills training will be provided to build and grow business process understanding and MES capabilities for the role.

Completion of this project will result in business benefits such as reduction in product changeover duration, lead time, productivity and right first time for our thriving workforce. The key responsibilities and deliverables for this role are listed below.

  • Discover, develop and roll out pilot deployment, business process mapping, software configuration updates in MES for the manufacturing team with the support from the MES support team and technical experts. 
  • Deliver MES changes, on-site support, routine data maintenance and environment setup including change impact assessment, new configuration addition and design documentation update, working closely with global and 3rd party support teams
  • Engage with internal departments and external vendors to understand any issues in the operation of MES application and take necessary corrective action to avoid repetition of issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with MES product owners to ensure systems continue to operate and evolve in line with the Product Roadmap, wider Tech environment and key standards.
  • Work closely with site quality and manufacturing teams to identify business improvements, lead change controls and implementation within agreed Scope, Cost, and Time.

Education/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Computing

Competencies/Skills to have:

  • Desire to learn and understand pharmaceutical manufacturing process

  • Willingness to learn about MES software

  • Ability to write project related technical documents

  • Project Management and Business Analysis skills

  • Ability to collaborate with business functions to identify and implement business improvement projects to deliver business value

  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn new technologies

  • Demonstrable ability to solve complex problems and deliver significant process improvements
