Business Process Automation Analyst, Enterprise IT

In today's rapidly changing world, NTU is facing unprecedented challenges in adapting its student administration processes to keep up with the ever-evolving needs and expectations of students.

The Business Process Automation Analyst (a position in the Enterprise IT unit within the Centre for IT Services) is responsible for identifying, assessing, designing, developing, testing, implementing and managing automation solutions for business processes. The BPA Analyst will work with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and will use their knowledge of automation tools and technologies to design and implement solutions that meet those needs.

The BPA Analyst will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of automation solutions and making necessary adjustments. Opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation projects which can make a significant impact on the NTU community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities for automation.

  • Develop project plans/timelines for the implementation of automation initiatives.

  • Design, source, evaluate, develop automation solutions that meet the needs of the business.

  • Work with stakeholders and vendors in testing and implementing automation solutions.

  • Manage and maintain automation solutions – oversee/deliver the automation performance and make the necessary adjustments; identify and resolve any issues that arise with the automation solutions.

  • Communicate proactively with business stakeholders throughout the automation project lifecycle by providing regular project status updates, highlighting risks and issues, and recommending appropriate mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Lead and facilitate the adoption of IT automation, including training and change management.

  • Identify and conduct suitable training, facilitate clinics to help others in understanding and adopting automation.

  • Keep up with the latest trends in automation tools and technologies.

Requirements:

  • A degree or an equivalent certificate in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is required.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in IT, with a minimum of 3 years in systems analysis and design.

  • Proficiency in analysing complex business processes, identifying bottlenecks, and understanding the underlying workflows is crucial. The ability to break down processes into components and assess their suitability for automation is essential.

  • Experience in creating process maps, flowcharts and process models to visualise and document existing processes and proposed automated solutions.

  • Ability to collaborate with various teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, to explain the benefits of automation and gain buy-in for automation initiatives.

  • Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret data to identify trends and opportunities for automation.

  • Good understanding and delivery of automation technologies and tools, such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), workflow management systems, scripting languages (e.g., Python), and other relevant software.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple automation projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and coordinate efforts with cross-functional teams.
