About The Job

The job is anchored at our South-East Asia sales company, where you - in collaboration with the centrally located Business Development Owner for renewables and the sales team of the SEA Sales Company - will build a closer and more active relationship with stakeholders on the renewables scene in SEA, in particular aiming at supplementing the established AL market presence with new stakeholder presence, supporting new renewable products and new ways to market.

General tasks involve boosting market intelligence on new renewables technologies and stakeholders in SEA, building and communicating a deep, structured and transparent understanding of relevant regulation and strategic plans/road maps in SEA countries, helping Central in outreach activities to support the AL efforts to obtain and communicate thought leadership and finally, but not least, facilitating and boosting the collaboration between AL central and the SEA Sales Company.

Job Description

  • Responsibility for reliable and updated local market outlooks, market studies, product positioning and assessment of the SEA business potential in renewables

  • Build external stakeholder networks amongst local institutes, licensors, integrators and end-users as well as relevant non-SEA actors operating or wishing to operate on the SEA renewables market

  • Driving relevant local customer trails within renewables, for both new and existing customers.

  • Adapting renewables communication material for the SEA market and in collaboration with the central BD Owner plan and execute strategies for AL to become recognized as thought leader on renewables in SEA.

  • Interact with the global community including occasional travelling to learn and participate in important global events.

  • In collaboration with the Central BD Owner, the Central SC responsible and the SC renewables team help develop partnerships with key players on core bio-chemicals and bio-polymers in line with the BU strategy. 

  • Present Alfa Laval’s offering at industry events and seminars.

The position will be based either in Malaysia/Thailand/Indonesia/Singapore. You will report to the Energy Division Manager, SEA and work closely with Global BD Manager, Renewable Fuels & Chemicals.

What You Know

  • We believe you are an experienced business development professional with the capability to work in the unknown and communicate it in a clear and structured way.

  • You have a minimum of 10 years of technical and commercial experience linked to industrial production processes in the renewable chemicals industry both in South-East Asia and in an international setting.

  • You have a graduate degree in engineering or similar and a strong commercial acumen.

  • You are passionate about sustainability and like to constantly grow your knowledge.

  • You have excellent communication skills and must understand, speak and write English with complete proficiency.

  • Proficiency in local languages in SEA countries is an added advantage.
