VP / AVP, Bancassurance Sales Team Lead
 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Bancassurance Sales Team Lead to lead a team of Insurance Specialists and drive insurance sales through the Bank's retail and wealth banking channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, developing high-performing teams, strengthening partnerships with Relationship Managers, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes through needs-based financial advisory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Bancassurance  Specialists to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and insurance partners to deliver business growth.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow insurance penetration, referrals, and customer acquisition.
  • Monitor sales pipelines, productivity, and performance metrics, providing coaching and guidance to maximize results.
  • Support complex client engagements and provide holistic protection, wealth, and retirement planning solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory, compliance, and bank governance requirements.
  • Leverage data analytics, CRM tools, and digital capabilities to enhance sales effectiveness and customer experience.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through talent development, sales coaching, and capability building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Bancassurance, Insurance, Wealth Management, Retail Banking, or Financial Advisory.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding insurance sales targets.
  • Prior experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong knowledge of life insurance, investment-linked products, protection, retirement, and wealth planning solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the financial services industry.
  • Results-oriented, customer-centric, and able to thrive in a dynamic sales environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as CMFAS M5, M5A, M9, M9A and HI (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with affluent, emerging affluent, or mass retail customer segments.
