How it works?

You will join our high performing division aligned Operational Risk Management (ORM) team in Group Risk Management. The division aligned ORM team is a 2nd Line of Defence (2 LOD) function providing risk and control oversight, review and challenge coverage and support for our key business and support divisions.  For example, but not limited to: -

  • Key business divisions – Private Banking (BOS), Global Wholesale Bank, and;

  • Key support divisions – Group Finance, Group Human Resource and Group Strategy & Transformation Office.

For you to be successful in the role, you must have board experience in Operational Risk Management as well as deep process/ product expertise in the divisions you are covering.

How you succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of operational risk management principles and practices. You will need to be able to identify and assess potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies. You will also need to be able to communicate complex risk issues to stakeholders and work collaboratively to implement risk management solutions.

What you do

You will work with 1st Line of Defence functions of the divisions on a board range of risk matters including ensuring the divisions are operating in a controlled manner, key risks of the division are profiled adequately for senior management, root cause analysis of significant events are conducted, key risks and controls relevant to the business including new product and third party risks are identified, assessed, tested and key regulatory and policy requirements are complied with.

Who you are
  • You’ve got 5 – 10 years of experience in a risk and control, audit, or compliance role.

  • You have end-to end experience in private banking, retail and/or wholesale banking products and processes.

  • You’re proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Analytical, inquisitive, tenacious. You’re a results-driven self-starter, an adept problem solver with strong quantitative skills and comfortable in communications with senior management.

  • You’re a creative mind who’s able to synthesise data across different operational risk domains to produce a holistic picture of the division’s operational risk profile.

  • Proficiency in data visualization skills is preferred.
