The purpose of this role is to support with accounting and reporting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, while liaising with internal and external stakeholders to implement policies. Responsibilities include processing financial transactions, analysing data, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting processes to align accounting activities with government regulations and corporate standards. The role also involves reviewing and processing invoices, resolving payment queries, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data for the service company.
The Opportunity:
- Contribute to the development of the team's business plan to maximise productivity and performance.
- Ensure all processes are documented in a standard format and maintained in an accessible fashion.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced colleagues to increase capability and share knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements to meet financial obligations.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records to ensure compliance with regulations.
Your new role:
- Assist in the preparation of local regulatory returns.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly solvency projections.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax submissions for QBE Group.
- Support preparation of local company tax returns (direct and indirect).
- Support preparation of Transfer Pricing documents.
- Support annual external audit process.
- Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to continuously improve efficiency.
- Assist with special investigations/projects concerning commercial accounting issues as required.
- Participate in internal meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
About you:
- Accounting experience within a complex financial services organisation.
- Preferred Work Experience includes:
- Experience in the insurance industry, familiar with IFRS 17 accounting standard.
- Experience with the MAS’ Risk Based Capital (RCB II) regime for general insurers.
- Knowledge of Singapore GST regulations and experience in preparation of GST returns.
- Audit experience.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and general accounting procedures.
- Experience with Oracle Financials or similar ERP system.
- Proficiency in data management.
- Experience with Treasury or Settlements is an advantage.
- Proven experience in taking active accountability for own workload.
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Current or pending certifications as an accountant.
