Key responsibilities

Provide high-quality analytical and advisory inputs to support GC strategic initiatives.

  • Develop data-driven business cases, concept papers, and reports for senior management review on Graduate College strategic initiatives.

  • Conduct benchmarking, environmental scans and trend analysis relevant to postgraduate education and research capability.

  • Synthesize complex qualitative and quantitative data into practical, evidence-based options, recommendations aligned with GC and University priorities.

  • Support senior stakeholders by translating strategic intent into well-articulated analytical insights to guide decision-making.

Lead and support the development and facilitation of Industry Relevant Programme(IRP)

  • Coordinate design and development of selected IRP proposals with industry partners with industry partners, within approved GC and University frameworks.

  • Serve as Programme Lead for assigned IRP initiatives, overseeing planning, milestone tracking, deliverables, and issue resolution.

  • Facilitate cross-school collaboration to ensure academic alignment, programme relevance, and consistency with GC priorities and partner expectations.

  • Support internal communication and promotion of IRP initiatives to enhance awareness and engagement across GC and relevant stakeholders.

  • Work closely with the VP Industry Office to translate industry strategy and priorities into scalable Industry Relevant Programme (IRP) initiatives.

  • Facilitate feedback loops between industry partners, academic schools, and the VP Industry Office to support continuous improvement of IRP offerings.

  • Liaise with designated government agencies and industry partners.

  • Coordinate inputs for related joint initiatives, research programmes, and capability-building activities.

  • Serve as primary contact for operational and programme-related matters, escalating strategic issues appropriately to senior stakeholders.

  • Support formation and coordination of interest groups and cross-school project teams involved in external engagements.

Ensure structured execution, governance, and continuous improvement of assigned initiatives.

  • Monitor and track programme outcomes, GC operational KPIs and deliverables as assigned.

  • Prepare reports and progress updates for GC leadership to support decision-making in GC.

  • Identify operational risks, implementation gaps and improvement opportunities as assigned; recommend practical corrective actions and enhancement actions to strengthen programme effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • At least a Master’s degree in the field of science or technology from a recognised university.

  • At least 10 years of experience working with management, preferably from the tertiary education industry or relevant research industries.

  • Proven track record of experience working with multiple government agencies and industry companies.

  • Experience in international research and research management in a higher education institution or National Research Institution will be an advantage.

  • Extensive experience supporting senior management in strategy development, planning, or capability development roles.

  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and internal academic units.

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed environments with high levels of ambiguity.

  • A good team player with positive work attitude.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to develop practical, evidence-based recommendations.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to build alignment without direct authority.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in developing proposal and strategic briefs for senior leaders.

  • Sound judgement in interpreting policies, managing risks, and balancing competing priorities.
