Role Summary:

The APAC Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving Flowserve's success in the Chemical, Vacuum, Specialty Seals, and Energy Transition markets within their designated region. Reporting to the Global Business Development Lead, the Business Development Manager is responsible for executing strategic market entry and expansion strategies, managing key accounts, collaborating on product development, and leading regional sales development efforts to position Flowserve as a leader in flow control equipment.

This role can be at any APAC Flowserve location.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Analysis and Target Identification:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape within the region.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to align on target markets and sub-markets that best fit Flowserve’s strategic objectives.

Strategy Development and Deployment:

  • Develop and implement regional market entry and expansion strategies.
  • Identify key accounts and new business opportunities within the region and assigned market.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to execute strategies that drive regional business growth.
  • Collaborate with Sales Directors to deliver targeted market feedback and adapt strategies and approaches for optimal success.

Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key regional accounts.
  • Identify the top 20% of key accounts that will drive 80% of our business.
  • Develop tailored strategies and account plans for each key account.
  • Monitor and manage account performance, adjusting actions as needed to meet objectives.

Product and Service Portfolio Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with Product Management and New Product Development teams to align the product portfolio with regional market needs.
  • Participate in product launch planning and execution.

Collaboration with Marketing:

  • Partner with marketing teams to develop value propositions and marketing campaigns tailored to the region.
  • Provide market insights and customer feedback to support marketing initiatives.

Sales Support:

  • Provide regional sales teams with market intelligence, strategic guidance, and training.
  • Develop and implement effective regional sales strategies to enhance market penetration and achieve sales targets.
  • Engage with regional customers and support critical meetings to move the needle on engagement and execution of strategies.
  • Track and analyze sales performance to identify opportunities for improvement.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on regional market trends, bookings, key account performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% internationally and domestically
  • Proven record of accomplishment of developing and executing successful market strategies.
