Job Profile Summary

An opportunity has arisen for an Analyst position in Transaction Management Office (TMO) within the Trade & Commodity Finance (TCF) team in Singapore. A key role to provide strong support to the TCF Singapore Business Unit in servicing clients’ needs through close co-operation with TCF Account Officer (TCF AO) and the various internal dept. including Trade Operations and the Lending Operations amongst others. 

Primary responsibility of the TMO includes daily execution of clients’ transactions, ensuring transactions are financed within approved credit facilities supported by the appropriate collateral, closely follow-up and monitor transaction risk / collateral throughout the life cycle of the deal. 

Job Responsibilities:

Management of Transactions

  • Effective and timely management of transactions.
  • Contact point for clients and liaise closely with operational and supporting departments.
  • Perform independent transactional risk analysis including evaluation of its associated collateral quality and performance risks reference to the approved credit facilities and general guidelines or procedures.
  • Explore risk mitigating measures and work together with TCF AO in providing financing solutions to clients.
  • Participate actively in discussions with TCF AO and TMO on the observed modus operandi of the client, trade flow, facility utilization patterns, etc. during credit reviews.
  • Work with external partners, such as, but not limited to storage facility operators, clearing brokers, insurance underwriters.
  • Ensure transactions are in adherence with Compliance & related policies. 

Management of Approval Process

  • Based on analysis performed, prepare and obtain the appropriate transactional approval in accordance with the approval procedures.
  • Work closely with TCF FO and relevant departments (including Risk, Operations) to ensure smooth execution of transactions.

Management of Trade Life Cycle

This includes but not limited to:

  • Set up position report in system for each borrowing client as per approved terms and conditions.
  • Timely update of transaction information and exposures in the position report.
  • Monitor and manage supporting collaterals including assessment of the collateral quality; perform the appropriate collateral valuation including paper hedges relating to the physical cargo throughout the life cycle of the transaction.  
  • Handle clients’ daily cash flow transactions including deposits, remittances and attend to enquiries from clients.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects or assignments, commercial and clients’ meetings where necessary.

Facility Administration

  • Work closely with TCF AO ensuring smooth implementation of approved limits in system.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Collateral value reporting.

Others

  • Work together as a team in managing transactional flow & risks.
  • Proactively driving changes and contribute positively towards workflow efficiency.

  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Be passionate about doing a good job, possessing a ‘Hands-on’ and ‘can do’ mentality; be highly self-motivated.
  • Enjoy working in a team and supporting each other to do a better job.
  • Love details (but not losing sight of the big picture), be systematic and organized.
  • Possess good analytical skills, with an ability to understand the intrinsic transactional risks.
  • Positive attitude in dealing with challenging and difficult situations. Resourceful & willingness to work with clients / stakeholders for solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of trade finance.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications (particularly EXCEL).
