Purpose of the Job:

Financial Institutions is a coverage unit and a key growth segment within the Bank/GCIB business providing client solutions across the Banks, Institutional Investors and Financial Sponsors, Insurance, Public Sector and Diversified Financials segments. This position is to assist Global Co-Head of FI in (1) Establish business strategies for client segments, key sectors and geographies (2) Implement performance management structure for the business with quantifiable KPIs (3) Form the risk and control framework for the business and ensure it is followed across the teams as per set MUFG guidelines (4) Drive various project initiatives and track the success criteria in measurable terms (5) Work with RMs to enhance collaboration with product offices. This position reports into Head of APAC FI Business Management.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic       

Support Global Co-Head of FI to create global/regional/country strategy and monitor progress of the implementation. Identify key business trends, providing sound recommendations and establishing relationships with senior business stakeholders. Create strategic and financial presentations for management meetings and business reviews, analyzing year to end performance and develop target suggestions based on the business strategy. Provide value added financial analytics and market analysis to support all business decisions and planning process.

Financial

To provide support to Global Co-Head of FI to achieve financial targets aligned with the Asia FI business strategy. Monitor business performance in view of the given financial targets on a regular basis prompting business decisions. Perform business forecast and analysis for further business opportunities and risk management (e.g. product penetration, concentration/risks)

Customer

Contribute to overall Global and APAC FI strategy, business and account plans by working with internal and external partners as well as stakeholders. Define and delivering key business process improvements ensuring smooth day to day business operations to enhance client experience. Drive client centric implementation and development of business-wide action plans and key initiatives for areas of improvements

People

Other/ Control

Ensure adherence to all Regional/ Country Risk and Compliance requirements and the prevailing Regulations, resulting in zero regulatory or compliance breaches. Proactively identify and remediate risk and control issues (e.g. credit and operational risk inclusive of information security, data accuracy/integrity, and fiduciary duties.

Establish and maintain effective internal controls indicative of a disciplined culture that continuously strives to prevent unsafe or unsound practices. Always maintain the safety and soundness of FI business in close coordination with relevant internal business partners. Assist Global Co-Head of FI and GCBID management on business planning & cost control initiatives.Always comply with internal rules and guidelines as well as with external laws and regulations pertaining to the proper conduct of banking business. To achieve KPIs as set by HOD/ Management and perform additional duties as assigned from time to time

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Mindset - problem solving, analytical, independent, team player
  • Ability to work under strict timelines, manage multi-projects simultaneously
  • Experience in business management, business analyst, project management with Corp/FI Banking background supporting front line
  • Strong Project management skills with an ability to structure the deliverables in a coherent manner by managing and implementing cross-regional strategy projects and initiatives.
  • Be a trusted partner, who can collaborate across regions/ teams to deliver best in class results. 8. Attention to detail and desire to deliver high quality outputs.
  • “Can-do” attitude and ability to learn new topics quickly.
