Job Description:

Role purpose

The Workspace Engineer provides responsive, high-quality desk-side, remote and meeting-room technology support for the Asia Pacific user community. The role combines broad end-user computing capability with strong hands-on audio-visual and conferencing support, ensuring users, executives and business teams can work and collaborate effectively. The engineer owns incidents and service requests through resolution and contributes to operational readiness, documentation, service improvement and technology deployments.


Key accountabilities

  • End-user support: Receive, assess, prioritize and resolve incidents and service requests using remote support and on-site desk-side assistance. Support users across business, support and Technology
  • AV and meeting-room support: Set up, operate, test and troubleshoot meeting rooms, boardrooms, town halls and collaboration spaces. Support displays, cameras, microphones, speakers, room controllers, codecs, cabling, adapters and content-sharing devices.
  • Collaboration platforms: Provide hands-on support for Microsoft Teams Rooms, Teams meetings, Webex and other approved conferencing technologies, including meeting joins, audio and video quality, content sharing, peripheral detection and practical fallback arrangements.
  • Meeting and event readiness: Perform room health checks, support important meetings and events, coordinate pre-meeting testing, respond quickly to in-session issues and restore service or provide an alternate solution with minimal disruption.
  • Incident ownership and escalation: Maintain ownership, establish impact and priority, set realistic expectations, document evidence and engage internal engineering teams, Voice/AV specialists, Facilities or vendors when advanced diagnosis is required.
  • Endpoint lifecycle: Install, configure, image, deploy, maintain, upgrade and recover laptops, desktops, monitors, docks, printers, mobile devices and peripherals, including moves, adds and changes.
  • Modern workplace platforms: Support Windows 11, Microsoft 365 Apps, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, browsers, corporate mobile devices, approved BYOD services and common authentication or user-profile issues.
  • Workplace infrastructure: Troubleshoot network printing, Citrix/VDI, remote-access services, Aruba remote-access points and endpoint connectivity within the team’s support scope.
  • Service operations: Maintain accurate ServiceNow work notes, categorization, troubleshooting evidence, resolution details and asset updates while following incident, request, change, problem and knowledge-management practices.
  • Stakeholder and vendor partnership: Build trusted relationships with users, executives, technical teams, Facilities and service providers. Coordinate room technology maintenance, break-fix activity, upgrades and site support.
  • Documentation and improvement: Create reusable support procedures, room guides, troubleshooting articles and support checklists. Identify recurring issues and contribute to testing, automation, process controls and measurable service improvements.
  • Operational readiness: Support inventory, asset lifecycle, business continuity, technology refreshes, office changes, audit evidence and other regional operational activities as assigned.

Required experience and capabilities

  • Approximately 5 years or more of hands-on desktop, workspace, end-user computing or related corporate technology support experience. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Strong practical experience supporting AV-enabled meeting rooms and conferencing setups, including systematic fault isolation across room systems, endpoints, peripherals, cabling, network connectivity and meeting platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to support Microsoft Teams meetings or Teams Rooms and at least one other enterprise conferencing environment, such as Webex or an equivalent platform.
  • Ability to prepare rooms and equipment for executive meetings, town halls or business events and provide calm, discreet support during time-sensitive sessions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365 applications, hardware, printers, monitors, docks, mobile devices, connectivity and user-profile issues.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise endpoint deployment and management tools such as Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), Intune or equivalent solutions.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow or a comparable IT service-management platform, with disciplined ticket ownership, updates and documentation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, strong customer-service judgement and confidence supporting senior stakeholders and users under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across a global, follow-the-sun support model and coordinating effectively with specialist teams and vendors.
  • Ability to handle company information, user data, access and equipment in line with security, privacy, risk and record-keeping requirements.

Preferred qualifications and experience

  • Experience with enterprise meeting-room ecosystems and components such as room control panels, digital signal processors, wireless presentation systems, room scheduling panels, integrated microphones, cameras and speakers.
  • Exposure to room platforms or AV technologies such as Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco/Webex Rooms, Logitech, Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp or equivalent solutions.
  • Experience supporting executive floors, conference facilities, internal events, training sessions or hybrid meetings with vendor coordination and documented readiness checks.
  • Experience with Citrix, VDI, remote-access technologies, Aruba RAPs, network troubleshooting and enterprise printing.
  • ITIL knowledge or certification and experience contributing to incident reviews, problem management or continual service improvement.
  • PowerShell or other scripting experience used for safe support automation, data collection or quality checks.
  • Financial-services or Front Office support exposure is helpful

Working arrangements

  • This role participates in a rostered 9-hour shift to support business coverage. Shift times may include approximately 4:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., subject to operational requirements.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, overtime and after-hours on-call support may be required for incidents, important meetings, events, office moves, technology changes, maintenance and project work.
