We’re looking for a Workshop Team Leader, who will play a pivotal role in supporting the Operations Manager by overseeing the service center’s workshop activities. This role provides leadership to technicians, ensuring smooth equipment preparation, repairs, and customer service delivery while optimizing fleet readiness and operational efficiency.

What you’ll do:
Safety:
-
Drive Safety Performance: Promote a culture of safety and accountability within the team.
-
Ensure Compliance: Maintain safe and clean facilities that meet GSCS standards.

Conduct Safety Meetings: Lead daily toolbox and safety meetings when the Operations Manager is unavailable.
People Management:

Provide Leadership: Coach and develop technicians to enhance their skills and performance.

Oversee Scheduling: Manage team schedules to ensure service delivery goals are met.

Maintain Staffing Levels: Ensure adequate staffing for both shop and field technicians.
Fleet & Equipment Management:

Timely Maintenance: Ensure maintenance is performed on schedule for reliable asset availability.

Monitor Fleet Readiness: Oversee pre-delivery preparations in alignment with global KPIs.

Accurate Status Reporting: Maintain accurate fleet status in M3 & FSL systems.
Commercial & Operational Management:

Support Cost Control: Implement initiatives to manage costs while ensuring profitability.

Monitor Expenses: Track technician overtime, subcontractor costs, and consumable expenses.

Optimize Expenditures: Drive business standards to enhance service center financial performance.

Manage Procurement: Oversee procurement processes to ensure efficiency within the service center.
You’ll have the following skills and experience:

Trade or Engineering Qualification: Preferably as an electrician, diesel mechanic, or gas mechanic.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in industrial workshops; experience in the power industry is a plus.

Education: Degree or certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent expertise.

Driver’s License: Valid local driver’s license is required.

Communication Skills: Strong ability in documentation and reporting.

Independence: Capable of working independently and managing workloads under demanding conditions.
